Opposition to the Toy Train streetcar is now official . . .
More than 60 residents in a proposed transportation development district made their opposition to the proposed extension of Kansas City’s streetcar system official on Monday afternoon. Late Monday, Sherry DeJanes, an attorney at Sherry DeJanes PC, filed an answer and request for declaratory judgment with Jackson County Circuit Court
And once again . . . Kansas City Insiders warn that the toy train expansion in Brookside might very well be Mayor Sly's Waterloo
Developing . . .
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco.
ReplyDeleteThis ain't no fooling around.
ReplyDeleteYou know what would be less costly to the city and just as much fun?
ReplyDeleteGet those carts you see in places like Vietnam where the guy with the hat pulls you around to wherever you want to go.
bị phá hủy!!!!!
First Response Bamm!
ReplyDeletePanic on the streets of Waldo?
ReplyDeletePanic on the streets of Brookside?
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again?
Hopes may rise on the grasmere
But honey pie, you're not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed dj
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life
On the Leeds side-streets that you slip down
Provincial towns you jog 'round
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Sleep with one eye open, Gripping your pillow tight.
ReplyDeleteTurn our the lights the party's over.

ReplyDeleteYou can lick me, rip me, suck me, fuck me, bite me, squeeze me, bang me, eat me, rub me, taste me, touch me, tease me, please me...Just DON'T build the Toy Train!!"
ReplyDelete"I can imagine it, therefore I want it.
ReplyDeleteI want it therefore, I should have it.
Because I should have it, I need it.
Because I need it, I deserve it.
Because I deserve it, I will do anything necessary to get it!"
6:10, 6:16, 6:22: Would this be the Aspergers guy living in his parents basement in Liberty again?
ReplyDeleteMUST we unleash the Hipster Manifesto yet again? What do we have to do to get you people to understand we want this streetcar and all our lives our parents have made sure we've gotten everything we want. Whjat's your problem? Do you want us to prove our point by holding marathons in Brookside every Saturday until next winter?
ReplyDeleteDesperation might be setting in at 12th and Oak.
ReplyDeleteSoon we'll find out that the initial TDD doesn't even come close to paying for the original Main Street line and the huge new TDD from state line to I-435 and the river to 81st Street is needed just to keep up with the current and ever-growing bills rolling in. And if anyone thinks that Federal funds will be a triggering event for collection of all that new tax money, you haven't been paying very close attention to this scam from the beginning.
And in KCMO, once the public makes it clear it doesn't support something, the "cleverness" that Sly and gang have becomne so well known for begins.
Let's see; how can this vote be rigged just like the first?
You're right. The petition says that the TDD's board - Sly's lapdogs - decides when it's prudent to collect taxes. It doesn't say shit about federal funds
ReplyDelete80-100 Brooksiders at tonights streetcar meeting and they aren't happy about possible changes to Wornall & Brookside.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the toy train is only going to go to UMKC.
ReplyDeleteI guess the streetcar crew prefers to avoid being lynched rather then trying to railroad this boondoggle over South KC.
Please, every attorney knows Sherry is crazy
ReplyDeleteDon't bother bringing it out to UMKC. Keep the damn thing downtown.
ReplyDeleteWe still will fight to oppose the formation of the TDD and any streetcar expansion. Stopping at UMKC doesn't change anything. Lawsuit filed and will continue.
ReplyDeleteCity Hall and UMKC are nuts if they think students will sardine into the streetcar to go to the equal waste of money crossroads art skool.
ReplyDelete80-100 BKS resident were at the meeting 20-25 of them were opposed, 30-50 were in favor. A bunch were undecided.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the 20-25 were loud (as always)and rude. And of course, more than a few of themwere not from Brooskide (or even KCMO
).
Shameful corrupt angsty CAVE people.
Since it was my neighborhood's HOA meeting, I can confirm that a good 80 of the 100 or so were from Greenway Fields or Armour Hills. I only heard one pro-streetcar comment, and it was from some fat guy who said he lived near UMKC. No one took a vote, so 9:07 is full of crap.
ReplyDeletebut less full of crap than the guy who said 100 ppl "angry", aka angsty, about "changes"
ReplyDeleteSAVE OUR WORNALL where SHILDRENS CAN PLAY SAFETY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
