"On 3-18-2014 just before 4 pm officers working in the area of the Kansas City Zoo heard shots fired. As they moved in to the area where the shots were heard, they encountered large crowds attempting to leave the zoo. A search of the area was conducted and officers were unable to locate the person responsible for firing the shots. At this time no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made for this incident. Officers remain in the area to provide security for those leaving and to help with traffic control."
