Union Station once again celebrates the illusion of financial solvency for Kansas City news readers:
Newspaper Propaganda: Union Station is whistling a much better, sustainable tune
TKC FACT CHECK: More than ever the old school transit legacy is dependent on Kansas City taxpayers, tax breaks and the ongoing bait and switch corporate-office-space-play which isn't really what the bi-state tax that started the redevelopment of the place promised.
Also, somebody a lot smarter than TKC asked about this so-called good news . . .
"Curious as to whether the Kansas City Museum money is included in that figure? Or, are those funds kept separately??"
Don't expect to get the answer to that question from Kansas City Dead Tree Media who mostly seem to hype Kansas City's many white elephants.
The only reason Union Station is getting better financially is because that ass-clown Georgie Guastello has turned the place into an office park. It is no longer a "destination" place.

ReplyDeleteAn audit of Union Station was requested multiple times and both Marcason and Glover declined the requests, stating that with ties to the museum severed, the audits were no longer pertinent. They are also very protective of George Guastello.
ReplyDeleteI would argue that we could do much worse than Guastello, but again, much like Troy Schulte, they are effective at their jobs, but perhaps not the most responsible or fair with tax payer money, and that is cause for outrage.

It is fun proving you wrong, and it never gets old, but oh brother, is it repetitive.
Union Station is a disaster when, as stated above, the fuzzy math is revealed. As for Guestello, his UMKC classmates will continue to provide him with overpaying jobs, all at the expense of the KC taxpayer. If you lined up all the people he has pissed off the line would reach China. Yeah, a lot of people have a hard on for George Guestello. Two avatars and a guy from the Star are the least of his worries.
