  1. Every now and then someone in KCMO government forgets that the city, Jackson County, and KCPS are not there to seve the public, but to act as troughs of public money for contractors, consultants, and grifters, and an employment agency for unqualified family and friends.
But they're probably new and make the mistake of trying to actually do what's right and look out for the public.
But very quickly, someone sets them straigt.
And this is a good example.

  2. According to the text of the bill, it would have saved the city $800,000 per year to have a third party handle ambulance bills.

  3. But, I don't think that takes into account the full impact of lost jobs, and community impact due to the displaced employees. What I don't get is this, best as I can tell, money the fire dept collects via Billing doesn't go back to the fire dept. If the city wanted to provide real incentive to maximize collections, why not let kcfd keep some of that revenue in house?

  4. Good for the employees, bad for the taxpayers. Not only would the City save money from the payroll-related expenses, but those collection companies significantly outperform public employees in collections.

    1. Do they outperform? Can you prove this? It seems like a stretch.

  5. I'm confused. I thought the KCFD had already outsourced most of their jobs to Price Chopper.

  6. It seems odd they would consider sending local jobs out of state.

  7. And just what 9:23 that this city does that isn't odd?

  8. I love me some Firemen!

  9. Well we all know if it has to do with the KCFD if will be fucked up.

  10. Why was the Firefighters union so involved in representing those billing people? Isn't that billing group in a different union? Is L42 trying to nudge out the other union? How did L42 get involved? Who involved them?

  11. Unions back each other dumb shit! It's called loyalty for all union members.

  12. 5:03 Thats right ! Because it's a bad deal doesn't matter! Union first/

  13. You can see what the unions have done with so much manufacturing outsourced to other countries. Unions first means screw the taxpayors! You guys act like the these people are entitled to these jobs like it is some sort of subsidized jobs program.

  14. “The Company that was the recommended vendor had a security breach recently.
The breach was asked about in the RFP process. Their answer attempted to
minimize the breach, indicating that only 3 agencies had been affected.
We now know that at least 27 agencies in 17 states had been affected.
So I think it’s pretty clear we do need to turn this down.

  15. Try to remove that log from your own eye first so that you might see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.
