Gun suit is going nowhere! If the daughter's doctor knew her daughter was a danger to herself or others then mom could have had daughter involuntarily placed in a treatment center. If she had time to call the pawn shop two days ahead then she had time to get the court order. Additionally if the daughter was, in fact, a danger then she should have been barred from gun ownership under federal law. Second, the pawnshop is a federally licensed gun dealer so a background check had to be done prior to sale. Anyone whi expects a store owner to take annonymous calls and then manage to conduct a mental evaluation is a little nuts in her own right. The daughter either had a prohibitive mental issue under the law or she didn't. What mom did was apparently fail to deal with her daughter's issues which resulted in her daughter being able to legally purchase a firearm even though mom and doc knew the kid was a danger to herself or others. Making mental evaluations is not under the purview of a firearms dealer. It seems pretty clear to me who was negligent. Woman up mom!
