Kansas City snow FAIL wasn't confined to City Hall this week.

According to a TOP ECHELON KANSAS CITY EDUCATION INSIDER the Teacher's union war on new technology for local students has also created a sordid snow situation that will last throughout the year.

Background . . .

Missouri is lagging behind and desperate to make up ground in tech advances for students. In fact, tech and Internets access might be the only new weapon to assist unaccredited and struggling schools.

Sadly, in Kansas City the teacher's union stands opposed to giving students more Internets access along with tablets, laptops and other resources. The lame excuse justifying this stance is flimsy . . . In reality, teachers and their union are worried about being rendered obsolete by new tech. As if most of them weren't already hopelessly behind the times.

Meanwhile . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS LAMENT THAT EXTRA SCHOOL DAYS HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE SCHEDULE WHEN STUDENTS/SCHOLARS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER ENGAGED USING NEW TECH THE TEACHER'S UNION OPPOSES!!!

Yes, yes . . . There was a bit of online learning taking place . . . But the reality is that the Teacher's Union in Kansas City has done its best to thwart new tech and Internets learning at every stop. Their attitude and even the approach and new plan of the KC Public School Board is tied to outdated bricks and mortar school houses that mostly serve to blight neighborhoods . . . Sadly, the future of education is online and continues to pass by Kansas City students thanks to ongoing political strife.

    Laptops and tablets in the schools are good ideas but as with anything provided to children they need to be monitored and certain firewalls and watch guards installed.

    Teachers support tech in the classroom and "at home". It is nice to give kids a laptop; it would be nicer to give them access to the internet when they get home.
