This morning let's consider an interesting bit of follow-up on a story that Kansas City power brokers wanted to get out of the mainstream media spotlight with a quickness . . .
We're all familiar with most of the details of the tragic and deadly altercation betwixt a firefighter and an off-duty police officer in Downtown Kansas City.
However, there's one interesting footnote worthy of review . . .
Behind the scenes, according to most the altercation was started because of a cab fare dispute that was briefly documented even if behind the scenes talk reveals that the cabbie ALLEGEDLY called the FF's wife a "cunt" during the exchange.
Here's what we didn't know . . .
THE KANSAS CITY CABBIE SUFFERED A SEVERE BEAT DOWN BY THE FIREFIGHTER BEFORE THE DEADLY DOWNTOWN ALTERCATION WITH THE OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER!!! THE BEATING WAS SO BAD THAT THE CABBIE REMAINS IN HIDING AND HAS AVOIDED ANY MEDIA CONTACT SO FAR!!!
An insider notes:
"The guy was black and blue all over. It was really an unreported aspect of the story that the cab driver sustained incredible injuries and his life was CLEARLY in danger."
I think a lot of people regarded a story of the deadly downtown fight as more of a battle between police vs. fire but the tale of the beat down cabbie who is still scared and slightly injured offers an important perspective on the story.

An issue of respect. Nobody is going to feel sorry for that cab driver.

Pretty sure that woman IS a cunt, actually, based on her statements and her version of the story. Normally, I would have felt bad for her, since she was recently married and suddenly a widow, but she didn't really get any sympathy from me after I read the basic facts of the case. No reason why the cabbie should be in hiding, though. Can't imagine anyone is going to come after him.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read, if it was true, that the FF and his wife were debating whether or not to pay the cabbie. So, the "cunt" comment may have been warranted if they were going to stiff the cabbie of his fare.
ReplyDeleteThe cabbie beatdown would be consistent with what he did to the cop; except the cop had a gun. Cop also had extensive damage and needed surgery. He was trained in hand-to-hand battles; whereas, the cabbie was probably an average Joe and got whooped. Don't know if it is true, but would fit the behavior of the drunken FF and surprise nobody.
If the wife moves forward with the lawsuit as she has threatened, then we'll hear all about the cabbie from the defense. Time will tell.

So apparently, someone in the tax value office used his/her computer for personal dirty purposes and Mike Sanders did nothing about it? Well, this sounds like an HR thing. It would be Sanders business if said his/her "spunker" paid for the said "private entertainment" with a government credit card or a government lap top. I'm not saying its good to get busy at work, but where does Sanders come into this?

Also, I believe it. The cab driver could sue as well. Just a thought. I mean, the whole tale is off in bizzaro land, now we are just adding a new person. Also, who the heck takes a cab on their wedding day? What is all this going on?
