Kansas City Will Spend UNTOLD Cash On GOP Convention 2016 Bid Without Much Oversight!!!

Helling considers the GOP Convention bid that's going to cost Kansas City big time:

Kansas City officials pitch for the GOP convention — privately

"Most of the article is history about Tampa and the fact that City Hall isn't giving The Star or anybody else any info . . .

"Last week, The Star filed a Sunshine Law request with the city and the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association asking for information from the proposal on the potential public cost of the convention.

"Both declined, citing state law — and a concern about revealing details of the bid to competing communities.

“We will not be addressing specific questions related to the Finance section of our response,” said an email from Julie Sally, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City convention task force."

Let's not forget . . .

TKC EXCLUSIVE: INSIDERS HAVE ALREADY INFORMED US THAT KANSAS CITY HAD TO PUT UP AT LEAST $24 MILLION IN ESCROW TO EVEN START THE BID PROCESS!!!

This should be a harder sell than baseball . . . But the fact is that Democrat controlled Kansas City might want to push back on giving up so much cash for the GOP.

If spending untold amounts of public money without any oversight is one of the major criteria for getting the Republican Convention, KCMO city hall should be near the top of the list.
They do that every day!

Hopefully the usual cast of grifters have found their way into this gravy train. There needs to be an engineering study or two, right? Smirk!

It's no public money so they don't have to disclose, all private money. The horror

Imagine what $24 Million could do for KC neighborhoods and infrastructure...

Just tell the brain trust at KCMO city hall that the Kansas side is considering a bid, and they'll double down with an even bigger waste of funds.

Oh gees, oh gosh. This could get ugly. People should be pretty angry about this.

Where did this money come from?

How can they violate sunshine law like that?
