CLAY CHASTAIN TRANSIT CASE SURVIVES!!!

Here's a quick tale of winter endurance as Kansas City's only transit activist to win a citywide vote continues his crusade to put his idea on the ballot against a flurry of opposition from Mayor and Council who have their own transit designs . . .

KC Biz Journal: Missouri Supreme Court keeps Chastain transit plan alive

Deets:

"The state’s high court found that a Jackson County District Court erred when it found that a light-rail plan proposed by Chastain violated the Missouri Constitution. The Supreme Court reversed that decision and sent the case back to the district court."

And while Clay's crusade might not have a snowball's chance in hell . . . Given the current light rail effort to rig votes and subvert Democracy . . . Like it or not, Mr. Chastain is probably the only local transit activist with any voter endorsed legitimacy.

Developing . . .

Clay should get a job with Stubio?

Somehow you missed the fact that Clay's "plan" was passed by the people who live in the current TDD.

I sure hope his plan survives long enough to be on the same ballot in November with 3 sales tax increase proposals:
1% for Missouri
1% for KC streetcars
1% for Chastain train

When there are mutiple tax increases on one ballot people twnd to vote NO on all of them.

I'm beginning to think that just maybe, Chastain is on to something here... If he's battling the James regime, he's got to be doing something right!

Yay, Clay. Win.

Ha. you fucking dimwits think the TOYTRAINOMGBOONDOGGLESECRETBALLOT is expensive?

Chastains "plan" is a more expensive rail option, over a bigger area, with ancillary fantasy shit like a new bus electric bus fleet thrown in...and the Feds and private doners (hahahaha) picking up the lions share of the tab.

It would take a sales taxes increase of 4 percent to fund that pipe dream.

Meanwhile you guys cry about funding a modest rail spine addition to what is already the lowest funded public transit system of any mid-sized city in the country.

Fucking hillbillies.

But even Chastain says he isn’t yet sure how much of a victory it is.

“We needed a clarifying ruling and it appears we did not get one,” Chastain said.

SEE WHAT THE STAR DID THERE, THEY CALLED HIM AND ASKED HIM. MORE THAN YOU DID.

Clay's attorney didn't return his calls after the ruling. That should tell you a whole lot. He must be way behind in paying his attorney fees or his attorney is sick of talking to this fucking nut....or both.

That Hitler YouTube comedy skit comes to mind with this victory. With Russ Johnson as the enraged Hitler in the bunker.

Everyone seems to have overlooked something, The new taxing districts wlll have to have and pay a lease agreement with the downtown district to use the maintenace barn for the street cars repairs and the street cars themselves as they are being paid for by the taxing district that stops at Crown Center. It is unlawful for one taxing district to provide equipment or services paid for by taxpayers in a different district. Hello, thats like sending the fire trucks up to Gladstone to use for the week.
