The April Kansas City election looks like it's gonna be fun . . . Already they're gearing up for it on the web . . .

Check it:

A Better KC - Vote Yes On April 8th!

Now . . .

CHECK OUT TOP 5 LIST TO SUPPORT THE ELIMINATION OF AT-LARGE COUNCIL DISTRICTS!!!

1. Neither JoCo Nor Portland Need At-Large Districts To Run Their Local Government - Why shouldn't KCMO try keep up with bigger and better cities across the nation and right next door?

2. White Over-representation - Fact: White unfairly people dominate the At-Large seats in a way that's disproportionate to their population numbers amid a system that has its roots in the Pendergast era.

3. MORE NEIGHBORHOOD REPRESENTATION - Seriously, this is the most important reason - What has your At-Large Council member done for you lately?

4. (Great White) Northand Equality - More reps means more reps for the Northland too . . . Only the provincial Midtown residents are afraid of changing the way Kansas City politics works.

5. Keep The Cost Of Cowtown Campaigning Down - Dividing up KCMO into 12 Districts would thwart the local caste of political consultants who like big races and big checks . . . Anything to mess with these dudes is good news.

We'll have more on this later but let's not forget that KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS were the FIRST to deliver this news and now Dead Tree Media will be playing ketchup to convince the retirees of JoCo otherwise.

  1. So what is the population breakdown of white/black percentage versus white/black council? Actually who cares? We have a black mayor elected by an "at large" election. So why can't black at large council candidates win elections like Sly? Sly is a hypocrit. Hypocrit on putting this issue on the ballot and not putting airport or street car on ballot. Just go away Sly.

  2. Look the bottom line is White folks dominate this city's population by a huge majority so start breeding heavily, daily, if you want to catch up.

Nothing personal and all just a fact.

    Cheers!

  3. Sly is taking another step to becoming KCK. Good luck folks as you are on your way to a third world city status.

  4. More neighborhood representation. We don't have any neighborhood representation on the council at all. What passes for neighborhood representation (Margaret May) turns into a profit pit. Why doesn't May live in Ivanhoe anymore? Any guesses? The 'ol "I'm the Director of Ivanheo" sham is over. She used to care about neighborhoods but now she's like all of the rest, except she's been given some latitude to call the shots. I just love when people who abandon the neighborhood are portrayed as glorified redeemers of the neighborhood.

  5. Why is Marcus Leach leading the charge on something that has no chance of passing the council?

  6. Marcus Leach = Cleaver retread These ideas are Cleavers.

  7. The only part of Kansas City worth anything is the Northland. They got annexed decades ago, and only recently got any services. Now they have the temerity to seek political power? How dare they!

  8. The reason there are not more blacks on the council is because no one electable runs. Recruit, polish and run some decent candidates who aren't closeted, aren't idiots, don't send texts of their talkywacker...they'll get elected. Quit running garbage candidates.

  9. Funny how black people want everyone to ignore skin color and calls anyone a racist for not ignoring that. However, they always want more black people in office. Hypocrites.

  10. They are/were the oppressed minority. Their attempts to empower each other is not racist. They are not being hypocrites for wanting a say in local government. This constant calling of blacks racist is pathetic. I think you do it as a defensive reaction to history.
