TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDER REVEALS ONGOING EMT WORKER LAWSUIT AGAINST CITY HALL AS INEFFICIENT FIRE DEPARTMENT SPENDING SPIRALS OUT OF CONTROL!!!

By a long shot, one of the worst, most corrupt and politically motivated decisions in Kansas City history was to combine ambulance service with the outdated Fire Department. There's nothing on this planet that will prevent TKC from stating this fact of life time and time again.

To wit . . .

EXCLUSIVE AND KICK-ASS DOCUMENTATION REVEALS THE KANSAS CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT SPIRALING OUT OF CONTROL AND UNABLE TO TO EFFECTIVELY COMBINE AMBULANCE SERVICE INTO THEIR ORGANIZATION!!!

Response times, costs and overall effectiveness are taking a huge hit and contribute to an overall decline in the standard of local services according to this Kansas City Insider.

Unfortunately, without ambulance service there really is not much of a future for the KCFD despite the fact that it's more of an afterthought for the old school leadership department.

Moreover, given the highly political and mostly corrupt nature of this issue that relates to KCFD funding and pensions . . . Anybody who dares question the status quo regarding this topic will be met with threats about their house burning down or dying in a car crash while emergency services watches and drinks coffee . . . It's really easier to just move across the State Line than argue about vital city services.

But we don't do things the easy way here @ TKC . . . Because we're stupid.

Accordingly . . .

HERE'S MUST READ TESTIMONY REVEALING ONGOING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST KANSAS CITY ON BEHALF OF EMT WORKERS WHO STILL STRUGGLE UNDER THE KCFD!!!

Moreover . . .

FACTS AND FIGURES FROM THIS TESTIMONY REVEAL THE KCFD STILL UNABLE TO EFFECTIVELY INCORPORATE AMBULANCE SERVICE INTO THEIR ORGANIZATION!!!

Check it:

KCFD EMT/PARAMEDIC LAWSUIT

Yesterday the attached motion for summary judgment was filed by the plaintiffs in the FLSA lawsuit against the city. This motion is being filed because the Plaintiffs feel confident that the depositions, answers to interrogatories, and admissions on file, together with the affidavits, show that there is no genuine issue as to any material fact and the moving party is entitled to a judgment as a matter of law, averting a full trial.

Kansas City taxpayers and your readers NEED to connect the dots, and start asking questions concerning the competency and fiduciary responsibility of the current administration.

1. KCFD continues to fail at meeting response time requirements, 3 years and 9 months after they took over. They are some of the worst in the nation, averaging in the 70th percentile.

2. The one and only solution that Chief Berardi is forcing, is to increase firefighter staffing on Fire Pumpers to include one that is trained as a Paramedic. There is no medical evidence showing ALS engines to be any better than BLS engines. It is an archaic, inefficient, costly service with absolutely no evidence based data to support it.

3. The City Manager has asked the Fire Department to cut $8 million from the 2014 budget.

4. Kansas City paid 42.1 percent more overtime pay in fiscal 2013 than it did in fiscal 2010. 86% of this was attributed to KCFD.

4. Yesterday the Union requested to put the fire sales tax renewal on the next ballot. The City Manager refused, pending a strategic plan.

Federal Court has a 21 day period in which the City may respond to this motion.

  1. One of your point speaks volumes, this is an issue that is solved more quickly by the average person by moving out of KCMO jurisdiction. Changing the culture at 12th and Oak is impossible so it's better to just avoid it and no streetcar will lure most sensible people back.

    ReplyDelete
  2. The lawsuit makes no mention of "dots" 3 and 4 and therefore should not be accepted as fact.

So, nothing to see but more unfounded ax grinding here not supported by the facts.

There is always more and it is always worse.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Watch this one Tony. This will be a one of the ways that Troy gets fired.

The whole budget is out of control. Not just the FD.

    ReplyDelete
  4. This is going to cost the city millions. They should have listened three years ago to the facts. Instead, the city council listened to politics. They, along with schulte and funkhouser, caused this money pit.

    ReplyDelete
  5. So Tony you honestly think we have no need for fire department? You think with no ambulances the FD would shut down? Interesting.... you're the biggest misinformed idiot I've ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  6. That is why they force city employees, fire, and police to live in the city, we really know how bad it is and want OUT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Schulte has been playing a shell game with the budget for three years. That, and patronage, has kept him in his job.

It was not his credentials or prevailing in a competitive recruitment.

This Mayor and Council "owns" this bad decision. I doubt they have the courage to really assess what they have done. Lots of good people have left this building during Schulte's reign of politics over professionalism.

  8. 4. Kansas City paid 42.1 percent more overtime pay in fiscal 2013 than it did in fiscal 2010. 86% of this was attributed to KCFD.

Speaking of a statement that has "no evidence based data to support it," I guess that would be one too!

Same kinda reasoning there as MY ALLEY IS UNPLOWED!!! THEREFORE THE MAYOR SACRIFICES SMALL CHILDREN!!!

    Just so everybody knows.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Tony gets this right, "axe to grind" or not.

The FD has Tom Pendergast power in City Government. After the JJs explosion, the mayor shows up for a press conference in a FD Shirt. The FD can bring some serious heat on ANY politician in this city and they are, and should be a feared and respected force. Unfortunatly, most of that force is used for self serving interests and operates to the detriment of citizens.

We all admire the dangerous work that the FD does on citizen's behalf. That said, this organization resembles the mafia more than it does a Fire Deprtment when it comes to politics.

  10. CK's budget will make this a moot point. There is no money to change our course now.

    CK = Detroit

    ReplyDelete
  11. Tony, I guess you know more about throwing bombs than you do about ALS. Who arrives faster, an engine company or an ambulance? Ambulances are for transportation. An ALS pumper with a paramedic contains everything needed to stabilize a person for safe transport to a hospital. Why don't you educate yourself? I guess that's harder than posting picture of chicks with big hooters and photos you've borrowed from the Internet.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Geeze, will someone just fire Troy Schulte already.

    ReplyDelete
  13. If you fire Schulte you'll just wind up with some other jack ass like Cauthen who went on junket trips all the time making the streetcar train junket look like a trip to Topeka. KC is screwed all long as city hall functions as a welfare department for minorities and crabby, inept white dudes

    You are correct sir.

  15. Too wordy, too repetitive. Your red is the same as your headline.

Your news stories are exhausting me...and frankly I'm starting to scroll through them on the way to the next one. Moreover, you don't have to hype a good story.

Well written, it will sell itself.

  16. 12:07

    Shut the fuck up.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 9:55

    You are correct sir.

  18. You have to be a complete idiot to live in KCMO if you have the capability of moving beyond the city limits. Your town is run by slimeballs and gangsters. It can cost you your life if you have to depend on them in an emergency. Even Meth Town would be a better place to live.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh good grief

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just another Troy shit sandwich. Take a bite city council.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Only hope is that the State will take over the control of KCFD. Sly's solution is the usual; throw more money at it and look at the results.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Too many firemen and fire stations. Deep cuts are way overdue.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Fire Troy, wait fire the whole damn lot of them.

  24. 8:08, 8:28 Look at the auditor's report http://www.kcmo.org/idc/groups/cityauditors/documents/cityauditorsoffice/citywideovertime.pdf?CFID=144183&CFTOKEN=51144891

  25. Hmmm what ever happened to the "kick back" insurance card scandal?, and how about the probe into FDNY and NYPD on the 911 scandal of bogus benefits, what ever happened to station 19(Westport) back in the day with adult FF's bringing minor girls into the fire station?...hmmm it was late at night and for sure not a station tour. Reminds me of that show "how to catch a preditor"

The percentage of FF's that actually completely understand what good moral Turpitude means and what their true responsibility means for the suckers who see them as heros is worse than the money they stole from the taxpayers all these years. You guys may be a hero once in a great while but you are more crook, thief, cheater, liar, and bull shitter than you ever will be hero.

  27. Troy is a duchebag asshole, and if he ever leaves the position of city manager, I am sure he will find a new home with the public service people (who have), just as Troy - FAILED the public...so KCFD what position will Troy get in your organization? I am sure it will be the doggie style position, because us taxpayers have been taking it up the ass by your shit services for years.

    ReplyDelete
  28. KCFD is out of control. Rein them in...fires are down by a big percentage but they still hire lots f people an dthey get big salaries. Out of control. As usual.

    ReplyDelete
  29. KCFD may be out of control but thats not new news lol, what is new is that the public is finally starting to see it.

If the local government wasnt so afraid of them( KCFD aka the union) things could change, but the same pussies that vote are the same ones who bitch and the very same ones who wont do anything about it.

Its Kansas City, its One big Vagina!! and most who live here are pussies!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well except for us Firefighters! Asshole!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey! How bout the fire dept wanting ems peeps to go back four years and falsely write reports under other ff names just so they can still receive grants from the fed gov. Cause emts have never been told to do so. Only when grants are in jeopardy does the fire dept start cracking down. Just so the fire side can waste grants and yet ems still suffers. Ask around tony its true!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tony, you should have learned your lesson about letting Marisa Hermsen ghostwrite you posts for you when you got showed up on the "firemen don't get random drug tests" fiasco. Good reporters use good sources, and they VERIFY.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Someone might want to tell Marisa and the malcontents that there's also "absolutely no evidence based data to support" completely arbitrary response time requirements. Of course, since she's an emt with a 9 credit hour junior college certificate and not a paramedic she might not understand. An emt is a glorified taxi driver, a medic is a skilled medical professional capable of advanced life saving procedures before a patient is ever loaded into an ambulance for transport.

    ReplyDelete
  34. A quick check of bullet point#4 reveals why Marisa's not a medic with "math" like that there no way she could do a drug calculation

    ReplyDelete
  35. 737 there's no such thing as "good moral Turpitude". It's an oxymoron you fucking dolt. Turpitude means depravity or poor morals. Jesus fucking Christ. What a retard

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well as far as Marissa goes 9:13 you are a moron, I used to work for Mast and Marissa was my partner for years and she is a Paramedic always has been Asshole!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh and as a glorified Taxi driver as a EMT, as you say EMT's are, well I am cool with that, but I made a difference in the grand scheme of things in EMS, ya know the whole chain of people who actually make a difference in helping to save a life, and while you may pull a person out of a burning building, are you going to throw them on the pumper and take them back to the station, give them burn care and respiratory therapy, I have never seen a fire station that has a ICU or a burn unit in it ( what I have seen is a building full of true pricks). Good thing the chump mechanic that did his job made sure when you got that call that your ego mobile actually started so you could claim all the glory. If I had a small dick maybe I would more understand why you MONKEYS act the way you do!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Might want to fact check, ignorant assholes! http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2013/11/25/city-auditor-kc-paid-17m-in-overtime-pay.html

  39. 9:21 in your response to the comment about "Good Moral Turpitude" Well you must be as dumb as everyone knows you are. Google it. Copy and paste it on this blog once you do, and even though you wont because it will make you look more stupid than you already are.....I am still looking forward to your response :) Which will make you look even more stupid!

  40. Interesting that no one is spending a whole lot of time debating the actual motions that were filed with the court, and their implications for the FD.

I seem to recall a great deal of discussion when the case started that it was meritless. i don't hear that now.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well 10:22 what does it matter, any implications that have anything to do with KCFD are handled internally with threats to anyone that does not abide by their demands or cover ups...hey its politics. What is there to discuss?

    ReplyDelete
  42. 10:35:

I would suggest that federal court proceedings, and the people who chose to join the case, would suggest otherwise. maybe what the FD needs is court scrutiny.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Troy should have been fired a year ago! At least!! What a total disgrace as a City Manager. On top of that, his salary is an exorbitant waste of taxpayer dollars..

    ReplyDelete
  44. Why does this city council continue eating this turd sandwich called Troy Schulte? Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Here's what the bizjournal article you cited actually says:

"The report said that 86 percent of all overtime was attributed to the Kansas City Fire Department, Water Services Department, Aviation Department and Public Works Department."

So 86% is attributable to a total of 4 Departments. The FD and 1, 2, 3 others. That's how commas work.

Guess they don't teach reading comprehension in paramedic school.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well it's also apparent they don't teach "Class" in the fire academy!
