TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY 2014 TECH FAIL: NEW CITY HALL WEBSITE DEBUT NO SHOW?!?!

Once again we start the year with tardy promises from City Hall despite the tech cheerleading of Mayor Sly James and the City Council.

Check it:

WHERE'S THE NEW CITY HALL WEBSITE WE WERE PROMISED AT THE START OF THE NEW YEAR?!?! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS SAY IT'S RUNNING WAY BEHIND SCHEDULE!!!

Politics, tech and economic development are powering the cultural zeitgeist in Kansas City right now . . . Unfortunately, Kansas City is failing when it comes to all three.

Remember that when Mayor Sly debuted the new Calvin Klein Kansas City logo he promised a spiffy new Wordpress website complete with RSS feeds and all kinds of new tech toys for residents, business and municipal info AT THE START OF THE YEAR.

Now, here we are and there's no new website . . . WTF?!?!

NOW, here's the word from Kansas City insiders . . .

"New city website they've been bragging about was supposed to launch today. I'm hearing it's weeks behind schedule . . . Since that office has no leadership now with Danny gone."

Again . . . This tech topic falls under holding Mayor Sly accountable for his big promises. In this instance it's clear that Kansas City is failing to deliver on tech promises and spin from politicos or hype about gigabit Internets speed won't be able to hurry development that has stalled thanks to irrational tech exuberance and constant City Hall screw-ups.

Developing . . . Hopefully . . .

  7. OMG, now because Danny is gone, all hell will break loose.

Wasn't that the guy that you said got screwed?

So, the insider said something that supported you position of a month a go and it has away of showing up on the blog?

The media relations person has zero responsibility for web site roll out. You might as well blame the obamacare roll out on the fact that Danny is gone.

Beginning the benefit of responsible reporting. If only the TKC tipsters and insiders acted in the best interest of the tax payers without any ox of their own to gore.

  8. Nobody is blaming nobody anymore. We got no leaders cause' we never needed leaders. Kaufman needs leaders to tell us what to do.

  10. 6:34, actually, you couldn't be more wrong. Rotert was overseeing the entire website revamp. He wasn't the "media relations person". He was the communications director. Huge difference.

  11. IT Director has responsibility for the web site. Always has.

  15. 10:59, if you knew the IT director you'd know how ridiculous that statement is. Also, 10:07 is right, the website was Danny's baby.
