ReplyDeleteWhat I do know is right this very minute the number of under aged young adults having sex would probably shock us all. But it's a fact kids are having sex out there all the time but nobody is yelling rape about that. Is it because alcohol was involved that makes it then a rape? I myself when I was under 18 was having sex with girls who was enjoying it as much as I was at the time. I as well remember a girl who a few days later felt very guilty about it. Hell I was very nervous she was going to cause trouble for me but she didn't. But the fact remains kids are having sex and drinking along with doing drugs and for some reason only a few select cases such as this come to light.
I agree lets all chill the hell out and let the courts deal with it. Lets not all run around saying shit we can't prove. If the mom wants to scream let her scream, but wait for the facts before you take a stance on who is or isn't guilty of something.

Sure he can, they was both drunk and probably don't remember all that much about what happened other than they was drunk and it appears there was sex. Oh so, the so called tape is the answer. What tape? where is this so called tape/video at? Was it even what it was supposed to have been? Or was it just some bragging rights after some kids had a party before it got all ugly. The internet is full of naked men and women who love sharing with the world their bodies. When one is drunk taking naked pictures might seem like a cool thing to do till one sobers up later or someone yells rape. Yes women do the same thing as men do. Women can share a night of sex with friends just as men can at times. But we have two problematic kids here who after doing some drinking and who knows what have sex it appears. Maybe even some pictures of something was taken. Hey they was drunk and having a good time, at the time.

To me the guilty ones are the parents for not being responsible parents, the kids for as well knowing what they was about to do was wrong but not caring, and the media for playing on facts not know for sure to be facts and not calling for the heads of all the responsible adults here who should have had a little control over what took place with these kids.
There's just too much to this story that doesn't add up. When it originally broke, the supposed victim (Daisy)said she had already been drinking at her own home before going to a party where she drank even more. Why would any parent let a 14 yo out of the house to go to a party, especially if she had already been drinking at home? When people get drunk to the point of losing control of themselves, it's no one's fault but their own. That's just a risk you take for getting plastered. It sounds to me like Mom's let the kids run wild and now that something like this happened, she's pretending to be shocked at the outcome.

ReplyDeleteWe have all been kids at one time. Many of us did things that would have got us in really bad trouble but was never caught. Some did things that could have got an adult in really bad trouble as well but then again was never caught. But then there was me and my friends, we wasn't as lucky. I got busted for drinking one night and getting caught with a group who was drunk like me and all naked swimming in a pool we had broke into. Some of us was charged with more things than others. I got charged for supplying some of the beer which I didn't but three girls said I did. An adult was charged with giving beer to me only because two others said I got the beer from him. He got a felony rap out of this and to this day was innocent of such. The guy who got the keg had stolen it from a liquor store a week before, the store reported the theft but the cops never tried to track it down. But 18 drunk naked kids caused a butt load of shit to happen. Every girl there had sex with her man that night, it was a known fact, I as well did. But none of us was charged with rape. In fact no talk of rape was never mentioned. the youngest girl there was 13 and was known she dated a guy almost 18. We became known as those kids for some time afterwards. Sure we caught a lot of flack everyone did some time of some sort mostly community stuff but for all being juveniles we got a lot of press for what we did as well as out parents. Every parent was made to attend a parenting class along with other issues as fines and so forth. But I look at this Coleman case and have to wonder just what really happened and as well why is the parents not really under the microscope here. Guess things is really done different in Missouri.
ReplyDeleteI think what disgusts most of us is the way members of the Maryville community treated Daisy in the aftermath both at her school and in the open on social media. Rape or not when a Senior is screwing a drunk freshman he is taking advantage of her. Every parent of every child that allowed their child to bully that girl is trash raising trash. Texts by the accused in the aftermath of the incident show no remorse or class and no lessons learned. Guilty or not I am happy they have endured some hardship for that fact alone.

Here is what I think happened. We hear it all the times.
She snuck out that night behind her mothers back to go to this party. She saw the guy from high school there. She admitted to having a crush on him. She drinks a lot of liquid courage to get the chance to talk to him.
He being drunk as well hit it off with Daisy. After the party they go to his car. He talks sweet, they make out and they have sex.
She being a naive but learning 14-year-old thought his would start a relationship. Unfortunately for her, all he wanted to do was have sex. Maybe not even be a FWB situation.
She comes home that morning and is confronted by her mother She is embarrassed, hurt and to save face with her mom screams rape.
Happens more and more with girls today.
I'm shocked that this day and age of the internet that people think there isn't sluts out there. Anyone remember hearing stories about how easy it was to find girls on AOL and sleep with them? Anyone looks at the dirty.com? Girls Gone Wild?

In the early '60s the Hollywood image of the American girl was Annette Funicello and Patty Duke. Today it's Miley Cyrus and those girls from "Pretty Little Liars."
Daisy isn't so innocent as people think. The truth will get out and there will be a lot of egg on peoples faces at the Kansas City Star, 980 and many in the national media.
7:48 some of what you state seems very logical. Other assumptions are totally off base. Tattoos have nothing to do with character. In another time, tattoos were equated with being a slut. Not today. I know some outstanding ladies that have sleeves, and lots of tattoos. They are anything but sluts.

Many feel the issue is whether a law was broken for having sex with someone drunk. She had been drinking at home. 14 and drinking at home. Then slipping out at 1 in the morning. I do have a problem with this. This is poor parenting and remember this important fact...if she didn't slip out this does not happen. Plain and simple. Nothing good happens at 1 or 2 in the morning. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and know there were more sluts, then, than Annette Funicello's and Patty Dukes. I ran some "babes" that would make Miley Cyrus look like a choir girl.
Mom looks like she was on roids at some point. To get that look, you got to be shooting it. Then after you come off of it, the rage is still there. That may explain some of her social media outbursts. Wild.
