Man charged in south KC shootings
A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the shooting of two south Kansas City residents inside a residence, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Jackson County Prosecutor Mean Jean Peters Baker is charging a dude with: Domestic Assault 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, THE DEFENDANT went to a residence in the 11300 block of Herrick in Kansas City, kicked in the door and shot a former girlfriend and also fired at a man in the residence with her. Two children, ages 5 and 7, were asleep in a nearby bedroom of the home. Both victims told police they attempted to return fire. THE DEFENDANT was later treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $200,000 cash.
