Chouteau Apartments to be torn down

Well that more of less proves there are no jobs downtown or people who will work. Either way is a wasted effort to sink any more money into the downtown area.

Now the million dollar question is who really wants the land and why.

  2. Now that Chouteau is being torn down, instead of a lot of crime being in one centralized location it will be dispersed throughout the city. New Orleans did the same thing with their ghetto. It backfired on them because it made black people take their special brand of "culture" to a lot more places instead of just one

  3. The only thing worse than those drones is the public utilities commission which has regulated that utilities can force their way into your home and if you object you can do without heat, hot water or service, even if it is 5 below zero, until you let them invade your privacy. The Cocksuckers!

6:21 I will wage a doobie of Colorado medical that Byron will have a different take on your comment. Personally, I agree with you 100%. Keep them in a central location and put a fence around it.

  6. It's filler material 9:55

Something to make it look like there is some real creativity and will power here.

  7. Yeah, like anyone who lived at Chouteau is looking for a job anyway. Give me a fucking break.

  8. Give Northeast back to the mob. It was a decent place to live then.

  9. Jobs left downtown a long time ago. In fact, only 16% of metro area jobs are downtown and most of those are with one level of government or another.
That's why office buildings are being converted to apartments. The income stream is a lot less, but at least it's something.
Downtown is becoming a renters' bedroom community full of folks with no more commitment to a neighborhood than the length of their lease.
And when the millenials age out and the "urban lifestyle" fad passes, they'll be looking to live in safe communities, closer to where they actually work, and for good schools for the kids.
Anybody want to buy a streetcar?
