KC man charged for shooting at KCPD officer
A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with an alleged carjacking and assault of a law enforcement officer, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Brian A. Myers, 25 (dob: 10/21/1988), faces Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree On a Law Enforcement Officer, Unlawful Possession of A Firearm and Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, Myers robbed an acquaintance, pulling a silver revolver. Police arranged to meet him outside a building in the area of Linwood and Garfield. When a police officer pulled in front of the address, Myers ran. During the chase, Myers raised a gun toward the officer, who fired a shot at Myers, who then fell to the ground. Other police officers at the scene said they saw the chase and found a gun near where Myers was taken into custody.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000.
