It's not a great comparison but in terms of horrible things on this planet . . . Probably not too far off . . .
Great. They'll ban abortion and next thing you know, fetuses will be demanding special programs and legal protections.

classic fundamentalist move. make private matters (gay marriage/abortion/weed/etc) public, and make public resources (schools/land/medical care) private. brownback get away with focusing so intensely on the first, he barely has to try to justify the latter.

ReplyDelete8:39 You left out guns. And 1:30 I'd be stunned if he's not re-elected. I'm a Kansan and can't stand the guy. This state is full of low-information voters. Even the educated people, and I know plenty of them, don't really know what's going on. They hear "Republican" and think lower taxes. They hear "Democrat" and think higher taxes. Most of them have kids in school too but don't care that they aren't being funded and will end up like Texas. I really do wish you had to pass a basic current event/intelligence test to vote. And no, I'm not talking Jim Crowe here. It would be for everybody to weed out the idiots too dumb to vote, some of whom are in my extended family. First question on test: Did Iraq have anything to do with 9/11? If you answer yes you are not allowed to vote. If you can name all the Kardashians or who is on Honey Boo Boo, you aren't allowed to vote. And a couple of other pertinent questions.
