Kansas Gov. Brownback Compares Abortion Crusade To Fight Against Slavery

Check a controversial statment from the Conservatie Kansas leader:

Gov. Sam Brownback says Kansas has been called to be a national leader on moral issues, comparing past anti-abortion protests in Wichita to the abolitionist movement that helped end slavery

It's not a great comparison but in terms of horrible things on this planet . . . Probably not too far off . . .

  1. Great. They'll ban abortion and next thing you know, fetuses will be demanding special programs and legal protections.

  2. Poor comparison.

  3. This subject is all Brownback has to say to get re-elected by a landslide. Next up? Gay marriage. Abortion and fags: it's a winner every time.
The vast majority of Kansas voters are too stupid to care about anything else.

classic fundamentalist move. make private matters (gay marriage/abortion/weed/etc) public, and make public resources (schools/land/medical care) private. brownback get away with focusing so intensely on the first, he barely has to try to justify the latter.

  5. KANSAS GOVERNOR BROWNBACK IS PRO-LIFE?

Is Gov. Brownback a sport hunter?

    Is Gov. Brownback a vegetarian?

Why did Gov. Brownback cut funding for poor/disabled people?

As a KS Congressman/Senator, why did Brownback support the war in Iraq?

Why did Brownback convert to Catholicism in 2002 via an Opus Dei priest?

In 2001, why did Brownback submit S.1465 authorizing waivers for foreign aid to Pakistan? (money which made it's way to al Qaeda)

In the 110th Session of Congress, why did Brownback miss 40% of the votes?

Why does Brownback support the right-wing genocidal Israeli plan to deport all Palestinians and annex all remaining lands?

  6. Save your breath, 10:36.
It's all about abortion and fags. No one in Kansas gives a shit about anything else. The majority are morons.

  7. In Brownbackistan women are second class citizens with soon to be zero rights. Even their bodies will be controlled by the gov. That's against Repub philosophy isn't it?

  8. Actually, the pro-choice people have more in common with the abolitionists, since this is about personal freedom.

  9. Brownback is the worst thing that happened to Kansas. I'm pretty sure he knows that he is done after this term.

  11. 8:39 You left out guns. And 1:30 I'd be stunned if he's not re-elected. I'm a Kansan and can't stand the guy. This state is full of low-information voters. Even the educated people, and I know plenty of them, don't really know what's going on. They hear "Republican" and think lower taxes. They hear "Democrat" and think higher taxes. Most of them have kids in school too but don't care that they aren't being funded and will end up like Texas. I really do wish you had to pass a basic current event/intelligence test to vote. And no, I'm not talking Jim Crowe here. It would be for everybody to weed out the idiots too dumb to vote, some of whom are in my extended family. First question on test: Did Iraq have anything to do with 9/11? If you answer yes you are not allowed to vote. If you can name all the Kardashians or who is on Honey Boo Boo, you aren't allowed to vote. And a couple of other pertinent questions.

  12. Don't forget that his in-laws bought his first Senate election, and paid a large FEC fine for their illegal activities.
This year it will be the Koch brothers who do the same thing.

  13. Why is it that Brownbeck looks so much like the offspring of Howdy Doody?
