Kansas City Snow Day Detroit Foreshadowing

Once again complaints about Kansas City streets and snow removal are pouring into this blog . . .

COLD REALITY CHECK: ARE YOU D-BAGS SATISFIED WITH THE KANSAS CITY SNOW JOB TODAY AND PREP FOR THE WORK WEEK?!?!

Apparently, school have learned their lesson and realize that depending on city services is a mistake:

Monday School Closings For The Kansas City Area

And considering that streets are much nicer in JoCo given the success of their biz poaching AND the malaise of a tragic defeat is covering this town like a heavy blanket of FAIL . . .

And don't get me started on the murder count . . .

A KC Insider writes: "Preview of KC's Future?" . . . Frankly, our video artists aren't as honest about the state of this town's economy and prospects . . .

Still, it's wroth a look:

DETROIT - "Tracing Skylines" - POOR BOYZ PRODUCTIONS

On the bright side . . . At least the future has lots of great hip-hop and some stark urban scenery . . .

  2. Tony, I'm going to guess that the school closings have everything to do with the extreme below-zero cold predicted for tomorrow morning and nothing to do with "city services".

I was out this morning, and the streets are completely driveable if you aren't an idiot.

Of course, you'll have the same whiners crying because the city didn't plow fast enough, then they'll cry some more when the city does plow and puts snow in their precious driveway, and they are too lazy to take five minutes to shovel it off.

Oh, and let's not forget. Three inches of snowfall ALWAYS produces three to four feet of ice and snow blocking the driveway when the plow comes by.

Seems to me your crybabies want every street, especially the cul-de-sacs and dead ends, plowed curb to curb and down to the pavement before it stops snowing, then their driveway cleared as well.

  3. Two in a row. Came home from church this morning a little after 9am and my Northland cul-de-sac was plowed. And yes, it was 4 days before we saw a plow in December and yes when we finally did it blocked the driveway. A+ effort this morning though. Nice work.

  4. Downtown CK didnt see many plows today. Streets are still snowbound.

Except for 12th and Oak. Clear as a summers day for Sly and Co.'s commute!

  5. Having grown up in Montana, I just love to hear KC people complain about snow.

Folks, you don't know what snow is if you think this storm was a problem.

Hell, we wouldn't even bother waking anybody up to plow it back home. This was nothing.

  8. The independence schools are cancelled because of the forecast wind chill not because of the roads. I am sure it's the same for the urban core district.

    Mr. Tony,
The streets look okay. Kansas City strives to be OK.
How many snow events are budgeted for this fiscal year?
