Kansas City Ruckus This Week

Take a look at our favorite Kansas City institution of local opinion this week . . .

Lots of interesting topics under discussion but more than anything we're surprised to see that everyone on the panel drank the toy train streetcar kool-aid . . . And rampant spending for a sketchy scheme isn't even a concern for either left or right factions of our political discourse.

Still worth a click if only to see Mike Shanin expertly move things along before they started singing in unison . . .

  5. They be better of rerunning old Stooges films. Now that the public would watch.

That or get Tony and chuck on the show every week and allow anonymous phone calls.

  8. .....and they're back!!!

17 years? Wow! Congrats Mr. Shanin, you look well rested.

Brownback In Kansas: Nice points from Woody (as usual), while Yael admits that he knows no Republicans! Gwen laughs off the KS questions (she's an Urban girl).

StreetCars: Money quote from Woody..."I don't buy pie in the sky." And Mike throws in a comparison to the ObamaCare rollout.

Mayor James: Yael confirms he loves Mayor James, and has always supported the new KCI plan. Mary recounts being at a holiday party where the Mayor was charming. Mike accentuates the importance of
    interpersonal relations.

At this time, Mike drops a ZINGER, referencing Miley Cyrus and "the right to twerk" (Mary can be heard gasping) as he segues toward his next topic.

MO Legislature Gets Right to Work: Gwen loses altitude when discussing the recent Boeing bid. Mike baits Mary on the relevance of modern day union labor. Yael's eyes pop out of his head when contemplating the state of his newspaper job security. Woody correctly lists the important issues facing the legislature.

Roasts & Toasts: Gwen Toasts KCPL for no rate increases. Woody cheers the KC Star for some lengthier articles recently, but...simultaneously Roasts the KC Star for not getting their facts straight. Yael Roasts KU Athletic Dept. for their plan to spend 17M on athlete housing. Mary Roasts Sam Brownback for playing politics while taking money from needy families. Mike gives a hat tip to KCUR's Kraske for interviewing the Ruckus crew, while lamenting the fact that he was caught slumming without his usual business attire.

    TWERKUCKUS!!!
