More deets on the South Kansas City ruckus: "Officers were called to the 500 block of E. 129th Terrace, near Blue Ridge, around 11 p.m. Thursday on a reported disturbance. The man was firing gunshots inside his home and threatening to take his life. Police evacuated six homes around the area."
Officers entered the house around 3 in the AM and discovered the dude dead from a gunshot wound.
