KANSAS CITY CINEMA MOMENT TONIGHT: TKC REVIEWS A VERY BRUTAL 10 MINUTES OF 12 YEARS A SLAVE!!!
We're working on important stuff for the morning update but tonight we decided to take a "cinema moment" in order to take a break from this day devoted to volunteerism and cultural appreciation i.e. blogging.
And I totally have been wanting to see Ride Along.
So, I flash mobbed my way down to the nearest movie house and used an X-mas gift card to buy an arm load of snacks and buttery popcorn goodness.
On my way, I must have walked into the wrong theater because it was filled with white women crying and some guy taking the worst beating I've seen since that one Pacquiao fight.
It was gross.
Suddenly, I realized I was in the wrong movie because there was no Pepsi product placement.
From what I witnessed . . . I can unequivocally note:
SOME OF YOU (WHITE) PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE AND YOUR SLAVE OWNER ANCESTORS ARE BURNING IN HELL!!!
As always, it was nice to see that Brad Pitt is one of the good ones ... Kinda like a historical nod to a TKC Tipster, or something.
Geez, that movie was a total bummer and even worse than trying to endure Ice Cube's acting.
Really a lot to deal with and I only watched about 10 minutes of it until I had to take a quick 5 minute phone call during the flick and then make it back in time for my show.
Still, I totally recommend the 12 Years A Slave for history buffs and S&M enthusiasts. I don't care how many knock-out game videos are posted as reprisal for this endorsement, that epoch in history is a shame on humanity and also quite a buzzkill for my free movie passes that my tia slaved away to give me.
More in a bit . . .
