Grandview Mayor Gets Calling Card From Feds

The aftermath of the Grandview Mayor resignation still resonates with local politicos and newsies.

Money quote:

"Always nice when a FBI agent leaves a business card when he checks out a campaign finance report"

Check the Ryan Kath coverage:

KSHB: Review of campaign finance records raises questions, reveals more FBI interest in former mayor

For now the politico seems to have avoided trouble by stepping down and offering another reason that Missouri SOS Kander's ethics reform is desperately needed.

Developing . . .

Another politician bought by a developer. Done every day in KC, why not Grandview?

Kander's ethics reform is a nice idea. But how will there ever be true ethics reform in politics when the ethics commission was created by the political process. The most we can really expect is the enforcement of the status quo.

Typical FBI. The never miss the opportunity to brush their teeth and press their suit when the press shows up.

I wonder how things are going with the baby lisa case.

This is interesting, but really chump change. The Feds should head for the KCMO water department or Jackson County's COMBAT fund.
There's some serious money there.
