Fox4KC: Man charged with stealing $100,000 Maserati from exclusive car dealership
Deets:
"According to court documents, Willis’ intention was to use deception to deprive Aristocrat Motors of the possession of the car which has a value of $100,000 or more.
"Police say Willis pretended to have money on January 14th when he used a check to purchase the vehicle, but it was later determined that the check was not good. Police added that it’s not unusual for a customer at such a high end dealership to pay in cash or check before driving off in a vehicle."
And while we don't support crime of any kind . . . It's kind of hilarious to see the 1% foiled by the typical human eagerness to cash a big check right away. And sadly, the alleged crook in this instance should only be grinning if he got away with the scam.
