TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! TOP ECHELON INSIDER: LAST CHANCE FOR FAMILIES TO ESCAPE KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AMID IMMINENT BANKRUPTCY AND SHUTDOWN!!!

Kansas City's elite are anything optimistic regarding the future of the KCPS amid a fight with Missouri education officials.

To wit . . .

A TOP ECHELON KANSAS CITY INSIDER SAYS NOW IS THE TIME TO BEAT THE RUSH AND ESCAPE THE KCPS!!!

Here's the word:

"Look at what's coming up for the district and ask yourself if you want your child in the mix of all of it.

"If the school transfer decision stands then you're looking at a fatal financial drain for Kansas City Public Schools.

"They'll be forced to pay money out to other districts at an exorbitant rate that will break them in the near term.

"As more students transfer out of the district that means fewer left behind and even more school shutdowns ahead.

"The die has been cast and in the very near future you're looking at nothing less than a shutdown or devastating breakup that's already in the planning stages. Given these circumstances there's no point in waiting around to be lost in the mix of a panicked rush for the door. Now is the time to take advantage of transfer opportunities or simply walk away from a district in the final tailspin of a perpetual cycle of decline. If not, you're looking at dealing with a crisis situation not too long from now."

Now, KCPS enrollment numbers over the long term reflect that others have already arrived at this decision but I think that the point here is simple: We're witnessing the final days of the KCPS and this could be the LAST CHANCE to avoid assigning the fate of scholars/students to education officials who presided over this mess in the first place.

  1. TKC, you need to repost the article about how the "scholars" are planning to take over at other schools in the metro. That is the real story.

  2. In a hospital and EMS we use to use a term Code Blue for a patient who has stopped breathing I'd say this district coded a long time ago. Best just call the corner dig a hole and bury it

  3. Lets cut the drama already. If KC district gets close to going broke the state will step in. Surely no one believes KC Schools will be left to finish rotting. With that said there may be some Administrators and Executives out of work, but a white flag from KC will only force the state to step in, find some real leadership and require the changes that should have been required decades ago. The idea that citizens should continue to throw money a this joke of a school system is just not acceptable. The students have to feel like the dregs of the earth knowing they are attending the worst schools in the state. It is past time to clean it up and the clean up has got to start now. KC going belly up will be nothing less than an opportunity for positive action.

  4. I tell my young relatives (as if they listen): Don’t bother trying to start a business. No, get yourself a Government Job. That’s where the good pay, generous benefits, long paid vacations, job security and early retirement is. Which do you want to be, the poor sucker trying to start a business against all odds … while being hounded to death by OSHA, IRS, EPA, Labor, FAA (if you are shipping anything) and a dozen agencies, federal, state and city, with armies of ballbusting regulators, each carrying a book of pettifogging rules and regulations thick as the NYC phonebook, and backed up by agency SWAT teams, coming down on you … or do you want to be the feared apperatchik, with a badge and a gun, licensed to bust the balls of that poor sap running a business, and see him tremble with fear before you? Its not even a fair question.

  5. What will the melodramatic blacks have left to bilk? They will no longer be able to scream racism when the kids have every opportunity to thrive. The jig is up. They still have City Hall and the 3rd District to fight over.

  6. Oh believe you me, they'll just turn the cries into things like not getting the same attention from the teachers as the other kids and such. The victimhood is virtually DNA encoded at this point.

  7. Just break it up and distribute it to districts that work.

  8. 6:06PM You are right on target. KCPS have not worked in my lifetime. It sucks up money and gives zero results.

  9. Tony, are you really trusting MISSOURI to do the right thing by KC? Don't be so gullible. They don't care about our city. They are just trying to loot money as well.

  10. 6:06 right on. Do not make students leave their neighborhood schools. Divide the administration, not the students.

  11. Jeez Tony. Those two birds are wearing PAROCHIAL SCHOOL uniform skirts. A good catholic boy like you should know that, by their skirts and also the way they show it off!
