TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY PUBLIC RADIO LOOKING FOR A NEW HOST!!!

Local media denizens and job seekers should look forward to some vicious competition soon regarding a high profile Kansas City radio gig now up for grabs.

Check it FIRST on TKC . . .

HERE'S THE WORD QUICKLY GOING ROUND REGARDING A NEW JOB OPENING @ KCUR!!!

It seems they're having a harder time replacing Jabulani Leffall than most people would have thought . . .

"As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been experimenting with the format of both KC Currents and Central Standard over the past few months, and we’re now looking for a daily talk/magazine show host.

"Please spread the word to any talented and engaging journalists who you think might be good candidates . .. Applications are due January 6.

"KCUR has an exciting opportunity for a creative and versatile radio journalist to help develop and host a daily talk/magazine show. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who has a strong presence hosting live broadcasts with callers, as well as the ability to report and produce segments and features from the field.

Knowledge of Kansas City and the region is a big plus, but not required.

Of course TKC is going to apply but since knowledge of Kansas City isn't a requirement, then I'm guessing it'll probably go to a Dead Tree Media newsie . . .

  1. The job belongs to Helling Tony, sorry.

  2. Tony, like him or hate him, would be a perfect fit on this channel. I have heard Tony on the radio several times and he is articulate, knowledgeable, polished and presents his side of any argument with verve, elan and an open mind.

Seriously, I am dead right on this and if the guys in charge are actually interested in viewership and numbers, then they should make the move and make it now, before another talk radio station in this town beats them to it.

It is what it is, and results count.

  3. And T has just the right looks and personal hygiene for radio.
    A perfect fit!

  4. KCUR isn't interested in a bitch dirtbag with no experience.

So Tony's out of the running.

  5. Slanderella has too many problems with the facts. He can't distinguish between them and what is made up by people just yanking his chain.

Remember this exclusive!!! about drones coming to Kansas City? He'd get laughed off the air with that kind of crap.

Of course, "the debate over drone technology is raging in Missouri but Kansas City mainstream media is keeping it quiet." Right.

    So, no.

  6. How bout Glazer, The King of Dirtbags?

Kind of has a nice ring to it.

  7. Tony, Toni Bones, Tracy Ward, Alonzo, etc.

Don't think that is going to draw the kind of audience they desire.

  8. Leffall was boring as hell. Had the passion of a piece of coal. My grandmother could do better and she's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Looks like they spent all this time trying to fine a black host for the show. Now's the time to look for the best host.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Please...no more nigger mush mouth announcers or hosts.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You know who'd be the perfect fit for KCUR? Jabulani Leffall...

    ReplyDelete
  12. He's history idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Leffall claimed that KCUR treated him like a "black slave."

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd love to see you on there Tony. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Tony is deluded if he thinks he has a chance at this gig.

    ReplyDelete
  16. "KCUR has an exciting opportunity for a blogger to help develop and host a dirty talk/booby magazine show."

Now there's a gig Tony could be in the running for.

  17. Charles Ferruzza (sp?) would be great. His show on KKFI us usually entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think they are looking for someone to hype up the toy train, a new airport, 100 unit apartments, fiber, the soccer team, and all the other wonderful things City Hall is doing for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  19. What about Walter Coppage? Also Charles Ferruzza. Also maybe one of Walt Bodine's kids?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Maybe Kay Barnes or Mark Funkhouser?

Chris Moreno, the world's nicest guy and ranking political genius.

  27. I say Glazer. He would make such a fuck of it he would have to leave town when he got fired because to many would want to hang his ass. Be the perfect way to get rid of Glazer once and for all.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Charles Ferruzza would be great. Hell, he already is, right there on KCUR.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tony would do a great job. When he's been on Darla Jaye's show, he's done an outstanding job. He's been on panel discussions with Helling and others and Tony did more than held his own.

    ReplyDelete
