Ordinance#: 130953: Section 1. That the Director of General Services is authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a contract amendment in the amount of $2,273,542.00 with Helix Architects + Design for design services for Project No. 07000168 – Kansas City East Police Department Campus from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-3431-078023-B-07000168. A copy of the amendment is on file in the General Services Department.
Now, in fairness, shifting around cash in a hurry isn't so surprising but this post is simply a reminder that Kansas City has COMPLETELY SCREWED-UP almost every aspect of this construction project that is now struggling to recover from a bill that's $20 MILLION OVER-BUDGET and counting.

So how much is this little project going to save the city? No a Dime. How much is it going to make for the city? Not a Dime. How many cold cases will result in an offender being adjudicated? Probably few since the offenders will all be dead by the time this damn toy is complete. How many murders will this thing prevent? Not a one.
