SHOW-ME MISSOURI STATE SEN. PAUL LEVOTA STOPPING SCHOOL TRANSFERS!!!

Kansas City area Democrats cracking down on families fed up with the unaccredited KCPS . . .

Northeast News: "Today, Sen. Paul LeVota, D-Independence, filed legislation addressing Missouri’s school accreditation process and the transfer of students from unaccredited districts.

LeVota pre-filed Senate Bill 624, which would allow school districts to establish policies that outline class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios. Once a district establishes a desirable class size and student-to-teacher ratio, districts would not be required to accept transfer students from unaccredited school districts if the move would violate the class size and student-to-teacher ratio."

In other words . . .

THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUT TO MOVE OUT OF KANSAS CITY ALTOGETHER!!!

Sadly, I'm not sure if eliminating all other options and escape routs will be a selling point for the KCPS that remains without accreditation.

Moving out of Kansas City altogether is the best approach I've heard so far. There's nothing here. We've a bunch of folks in office who really could care less about educating poor people rather than having their face fed from the public funding that is attached to the poor kids. Once the money is gone, it looks like business as usual at KCPS.

We have the worst City Council and Mayor probably in the history of Kansas City. Stop the bleeding now, call a Realtor and move out.

+1 5:52 LOLZ He does look like the Joker.

yeah - like THAT will work.

there's only a total of eigth state legislators who have any interest in supporting such a bill. amazingly enough they all represent areas either abutting the KCSD or the St. Louis fiasco.

this is about as stupid as Kansas City appealing the latest red light ruling: good money chasing bad...

Just pointing out most of Kansas City is not in the Kansas City school district

Transferring from kcps to independence isn't really a step up if we consider the quality of students and families in independence. Kc students are hosed either way.

@7:31 Nothing like the pot calling the kettle black. Independence gets credit for having an award winning school district and those derelict, low life families in Independence paid for it. What are you getting for your tax dollars?

John Rizzo also opposes allowing KCPS kids to transfer into the district he actually lives in (North of the Missouri River), so all these political assholes are no different from the other political assholes they criticize.

There is no correlation between the city council and Kansas City school district. In fact, there are 14 different school districts you could attend if you lived in Kansas City proper.
