  1. Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info. Looks like, as of today, little change in the homicide situation in KCMO between 2012 and 2013: In 2012 we ended the year with 109 homicides; so far for 2013 we are at 105 homicides--with two cases still to be determined if they were suicides or homicides and with five days to go before the New Year. As Talleyrand said: "The more things change, the more they remain the same!!" Take care and God bless--May the new year finally bring KCMO some relief on the crime situation. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  3. What is it with this obsession with the countdown of murders?
does four less or more murders make kc a better city?
would ten more or less really matter?

  5. And when you understand that the context of this piddling over 104 or 106 homicides and put the context in the fact that KCMO has 25% the m=number of murders as New York City, which has a population of over 8 million, you see how out of control the local situation really is.

  6. Dear Anonymous 8:12: You make a very valid point: Right now in NYC there are 317 homcides for 2013--here in KCMO there are 105 for 2013. And, as you say, NYC is eight million people, KCMO is 460,000. As Sherlock Holmes would say: "You do the math, Watson, it is a simple calculation." Blessed Christmas!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  7. I picked 107 way back during the spring thaw killing spree. Guess I should have got Glazer to tease it with some other puss bet.
