KANSAS CITY AIRPORT ADVOCACY CONTINUES: FRIENDS OF KCI ALREADY WORKING TO COLLECT REMAINING BALLOT INITIATIVE SIGNATURES!!!

This evening we just got word back from Dan Coffey for a bit of insight on the Friends of KCI effort to put the SINGLE-TERMINAL HOT MESS on the ballot rather than in the hands of conflicted Platte County politicos.

His comments were encouraging . . .

"TKC, we are 575 short but have till Dec 28 to turn them in. We really never quit working so we are on our way toward that goal. There is no set pattern for collection points. If one spot gets slow, we move. We were able to get more people helping and we will push to the end!"

So . . . It seems that this group is well on their way to bringing KCI decisions to the voters which is more than local politicos have accomplished so far.

Developing . . .

  1. Now we need to tell the Mayor and Council that they can't undercut their work once it's accomplished.

  5. I don't get it.
These folks must be naive about the city petition process. It is an initiative, not a referendum so there was no deadline to submit. They should have waited until they knew they had the valid signatures before submitting and starting the process.
Even then I think it is dubious the 10 day window to submit starts like in a referendum.

  6. how the fuck do they not have enough signatures already? oh, probably because nobody give a shit

  7. Don't kid yourself, this decision is going to cost kc maybe 3 BILLION dollars and that's with a B. This could bankrupt KCMO. The people who care about KC are paying attention and they are saying NO to this horrid plan.

  8. Dan Coffey is on the job.

    Excellent!

  9. These people are morons, can you imagine what would happen if we put this kind of effort towards real issues like crime and education? An airport plan is more important, brilliant!

  10. There's a lot of people willing to sign up. I actually waited in line at the Brookside Price Chopper last Sunday evening to sign up.

  11. Where can voters sign the petition? I'd sign. Please post where we can sign the petition.

    Thank you!

  12. Dan Coffey is among the dumbest rubes in this town, I wouldn't count on a damn thing happening with him "leading" the charge.
