Just a thought . . .
Admittedly, all bomb threats are the work of wackos BUT consider the level of civic turmoil, tension between city institutions and then the work of tone deaf Mayor and Council who have systematically worked to shut out voters AND THEN realize how all of this has set the stage for so much Kansas City resident rage that has no place to be productively channeled . . . KSHB: KCMO City Hall evacuated
KMBC: KCMO City Hall evacuated after reported bomb threat
KCTV5: KCMO City Hall evacuated due to bomb threat
Thankfully, nobody hurt and no bomb found (but looking at a "bag out of place") according to initial reports . . .
Update: Police still searching City Hall estimated to reopen @ 3pm.
Developing . . .
totally disagree.
ReplyDeleteSeriously doubt it's about citizen outrage. Imagine it is some crazy person
ReplyDeleteNormally I would blow-off your theory but that stunt they did with the airport was pretty shameful. Your thinking about building a $3.1 billion dollar airport but then solicit public comment starting at 7:30 in the morning one a weekday with one day's notice? Yeah, that doesn't sound like open and transparent government to anybody involved.
ReplyDeleteKCI-Public testimony was just getting underway and only four or five people had made their comments when the order came to evacuate City Hall.
ReplyDeleteHmmm
Does anyone know of a bomb threat that actually resulted in a bomb being found? Why would one plant a bomb and then tell someone so it could be dismantled. Even a crazy person wouldn't do that. So why do we make a big deal about a telephone call?
ReplyDeleteThey're looking at a bag out of place in the front yard. Seems iffy. Glad no one is hurt.
ReplyDeleteKC = Detroit.
ReplyDeleteEveryone acted genuinely surprised about the bomb treat. Seems legit.
ReplyDeleteInitial reports...."a bag out of place"
ReplyDeleteThat's no bag out of place! That's a performance artist inside his body bag!!!!!
Artist condemns lack of artistic appreciation at KCMO City Hall.
A city councilwoman out of place?
ReplyDeleteUnless your a bonifide Internet addict or on line news junkie 98% of the CK populace won't even notice.
ReplyDeleteIs there a list of accomplishments from city hall we can see for the past two years? I'm not talking about bragging about signing intents or proclamations. I'm talking about real results for the common citizen that we can all see.
ReplyDeleteYep here we go. All the drama queens on alert and blaming a package for looking suspicious. Some even reported the package smiling evily at them.
ReplyDelete1:18 its too early in the afternoon to be drunk.
ReplyDeletewell on the bright side its good to see all those police officers and fire fighters working hand in hand to take care of this! nothing like a little tuesday morning drama to put a rough weekend behind everyone not directly involved. city workers hang outside on one of the last pleasant days of the year, and the city gets to show off whatever silly toys they bought on homeland security cash. ill bet that unattended bag explosion was pretty sweet. the airport meeting also now gets tons of attention and has been postponed.
as long no bomb actually goes off and no one gets hurt, i spose this is as close to public service as we'll ever see from a terror scare.
Just a City Hall employee wanting to take the day off before the weather turns....
ReplyDeleteWished the caller wasn't making mere idol threats.
ReplyDeleteA bomb blast at city hall would be the most promising development downtown since they closed down the Stockyards.
