CHECK THIS EXCLUSIVE TKC TIPSTER REPORT FROM THE MEETING!!!
This is objective and balanced testimony that doesn't include just a couple of pointed questions directed @ Rep. LaFaver. Still . . . A great deal of insight into Kansas City state level politics . . .
"Senators Holsman and Justus pretty much ran the meeting. LaFaver was low key, didn't have much to say.
Not a big turnout of support for him.
I understand Holsman is doing these meetings with all the district reps in his area. Lot of time spent on what the Dems have accomplished in this year in Jeff City stopping the veto overrides. They setup what they think the agenda will be for next session. We spent some time on schools. They know its a mess but understand why some districts don't want student transfers because they have raised their property taxes to improve their schools and are now being asked to take in students from outside who have not contributed financially. We suggested they look strongly at the Student Education Initiative, the new program being presented for tax credits. Holsman who sits on the education committee said all options are on the table. We'll see!
Went around a little with Justus on voter I.D.. That was about it. We'll save the flames for closer to election."
