Election season is moving forward and locals are watching committees forming for future fights.
To wit . . .
THANKS TO THIS AWESOME TKC TIPSTER FOR SHARING A PREVIEW OF WHAT COULD BE AN EPIC SOUTH KANSAS CITY SHIFT IMPACTING A STATE REP. SEAT!!!
Here's the news info and testimony . . .
"Apparently, Darrell Curls filed a statement of committee organization with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Admittedly, that's not much a surprise. He does that practically every campaign season after losing the last one. What's interesting here is that this time, he's put under office sought "Dist 36 St Rep." District 36 is Kevin McManus's district, who's currently in his second term. Does Darrell think he can push McManus out over this tactic? Or his intention to primary a sitting Rep in a safe district? McManus beat him handily the first time they went against each other four years ago. I'm sure he'd welcome the rematch. But could Darrell survive politically losing his fourth election in a row?"
Admittedly, South Kansas City isn't my bag but what I have noted is more than a bit of tension out that way as demographics and party affiliation shifts.
UPDATED . . .
A Kansas City Insider informs us just now . . .
"McManus has his sights on City Council. John Sharp's seat . . ."
Developing . . .
If people are smart, they will not play into Darrell Curls playbook. They will re-elect McManus on one fact alone... Another CURLS in a political office is and has been toxic in Kansas City. People still hoping for change will recognize that.
ReplyDeleteWhat do they all think of unsolicited bulk email?
ReplyDeleteThose lovely calves need some sperm on them!
ReplyDeleteRemember the 6th district is *whiter* now since the redraw to satisfy an outdated law. It's ironic since it reduces the chance a black candidate will take the in-district seat.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand the parts of the 6th given to the 5th that contain non-thug blacks and whites might actually help the 5th in that their winner could possibly be smarter than a 6th grader.
I totally agree: no more from the Curls clan. There ought to be a law against having politics be the family business.
Shame on you Tony. Your "source" i s a state rep who is a personal enemy of both Curls and Mcmanas. who are friends. Once again you've been had.
ReplyDeletedynasty is not necessarily a bad word in politics. Remeber the Clintons, the Kennedys and the Bushes?
ReplyDelete9:15am Much of the Kennedy dynasty is dead. Maybe Curls will go that way.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteI have to pipe in... ANY seat that Kevin McManus chooses to seek I will happily vote for him. I will also be a volunteer.
820, this is what you got? What are you, like 14? Boogers and cooties next.........
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the cum guy defined the low end of the TKC readership.
12:59, internet pussy and probably nigger lover.
ReplyDelete14, I would guess. That's your smack? Weak.
Delete1259 + 1
ReplyDeleteWhere you been TKC? McManus had a huge fundraiser at Steve Boughs house last week.
ReplyDeleteTrue dat 1259. If someone is going to replace Sharp, they need to be able to scalp concert tickets and have liver spots.
