Here's the insider note thankfully sent our way somewhat recently:
"TKC, we would appreciate it if you let people know about our petition for a full prosecution of THE SUSPECTED ELLA THE DEER KILLER which has no reached more than 26,000 online signatures. We need to make sure that this monster is never again allowed to harm innocent animals under false pretenses. Please join us in this petition and call for justice for Ella."
The "Ella the Deer" killer maximum penalty petition certainly makes an impassioned plea
And while so many Kansas City homicides go unsolved, it's interesting to see these advocates making a full court press for deer death justice . . . We can only hope this community-based effort inspires others to stand up against rampant Kansas City human murder as well.

Prosecute the killer of Kansas City's Beloved Deer of Elmwood Cemetery.
To: KCMO Mayor Sly James, 3rd District Councilman Jermaine Reed, KCPD Chief Darryl Forte’, City Prosecutor Lowell Gard
We, the undersigned, respectfully ask for the full prosecution of Phoenix M. Vankirk for the unlawful killing of beloved Ella the deer at Elmwood Cemetery in Kansas City Missouri.
We ask that Ordinances and Laws be enforced in the city of Kansas City Missouri, such as;
Discharging a Weapon in city limits Sec. 50-263
Unlawful Use of a Weapon 571.030 1.(1)
Unlawfully killing an Animal Sec. 14-17
Animal Abuse 578.012. 1.(1)
and any other unlawful acts that apply in this wanton senseless killing.
We also ask that Vankirk be given the maximum penalties allowed upon conviction. We feel it’s a travesty that Vankirk was only cited by the Missouri Dept. of Conservation for shooting a deer out of season with a mere fine of just $299.50 plus cost. This is inadequate and justice has not been served.
