KC Biz Journal reports the champagne tastes of this broke-ass town: "The Kansas City Council is preparing to move on an order for its streetcar vehicle. Ordinance No. 130817, authorizing the expenditure of $17.9 million on four streetcar vehicles along with spare parts, was introduced to the full council minus Mayor Sly James."

  3. My favorite part is where it points out that they don't really have a way to pay that bill at this point.

Let's "borrow" from the general fund, and only pay back part of it and hope no one notices.

  4. 17 million plus another 10 we will hear about as cost overruns later. I guess if you can divert murderers and have them doing streetcar graffiti this would be monumental.
