JACKSON COUNTY QUESTION 1 HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 8-DAY REPORT!!!

Tonight the 8-Day reports for the Question 1 campaign are piquing the curiosity of the local political elite . . .

Accordingly . . .

CHECK THE TKC HAPPY FUN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE JACKSON COUNTY QUESTION 1 CAMPAIGN FINANCE REPORTS 8-DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION!!!

Spending from the opposition really isn't that exciting . . .

The lead group is Citizens For Responsible Research and it's comprised of Gazillionare Brad Bradshaw giving the campaign: $111,315 during October. The spending is comprised mostly of TV advertising.

Citizens for Responsible Research has about $640 on hand and they've spend about a quarter of a million bucks during this campaign.

Citizens for Fairness is slightly more interesting . . . The $200k from the "mystery" Government Policies Foundation earned a bit of scrutiny. Brad Bradshaw gave them another $3k and they've got about $99K on hand as the election comes to a close.

Newspaper dude Fitz and his Committee To Stop A Bad Cure finish with under $400 on hand and the only interesting item of note is a $2,500 donation from a Catholic Priest bringing that total to more more than $3,500 bucks .

Meanwhile . . .

THE COMMITTEE FOR RESEARCH TREATMENTS AND CURES IS MUCH MORE FUN TO CHECK!!!

The Committee for Research Treatment and Cures raised $1,670,855 through Oct. 24

They've still got $179,425.58 on hand.

Highlights from the donation column . . .

The $400K from the Civic Council is still a juggernaut donation in this tax effort. Overall they've given $600k to date.

$20K from St. Luke's for a total of $65k . . .

Another $100K from Children's Mercy for a $200k total . . .

$10K from KC Southern . . .

$25K from Mariner Holdings . . .

Burns & Mac make good with $25K bringing their total to $75K overall . . .

And now, news of maybe political win streak too . . .

The Kansas City Chiefs Football Club made good with $10k!!!

But here's a trend worth checking that really stands out to TKC . . .

COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS STAY WINNING WITH BIG EXPENSES FOR ADVERTISING FROM TAX SUPPORTERS!!!

Community Newspaper Advertising expenses for the Question 1 tax:

The KC Call: $4,625

The Globe: $2,489

Independence Examiner: $2,356

Dos Mundos: $2,402

KC Hispanic: $2,040

Lee's Summit Journal: $1,800

Clearly, this tax seems to be losing favor in neighborhoods and the cash kicked to community news seems to be a way to correct that trend.

We'll have more on the effort but this exchange of cash seemed exceptionally noteworthy.
