CRAIG GLAZER PREDICTS AN END TO THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS WIN STREAK!!!
TKC NOTE: They say that all good things must come to an end and tonight our pal Glazer explains what could be the end to the heady days of Chiefs winning . . .
There is a big concern by Chiefs fans that our quarterback Alex Smith is not good enough to take the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. I disagree, first of all I have said many times, given the fact that Alex has very few weapons to throw to, he’s done a very good job.
Let’s face it, the front office did little in the off-season to bolster our weak corps of receivers. The only solid performer we’ve added is Donnie Avery from Indianapolis. He has certainly been above average.
We all know about the Tight End situation and no, Tony Gonzalez is not coming. Here’s something you need to think about: Big Ben, the Pittsburgh Steeler QB is 0 and 4, Eli Manning the New York Giants QB is 0 and 5, not only that KC beat Manning. Matt Ryan, the quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, is 1 and 4. Tony Romo, QB of the Dallas Cowboys is 2 and 3 and KC beat Dallas.
So, that makes these 4 elite quarterbacks 3 and 16 collectively, Chief’s Quarterback Alex Smith is 5 and 0. No, he isn’t better than them, but with NFL’s only big play defense and thus far, a nearly mistake-proof offense, all playing as a team…the Kansas City Chiefs are now dangerous. To go a step further, they are a Super Bowl contender for the first time since 1997. The Chiefs face their nemesis, Oakland this Sunday at Arrowhead. It won’t be as easy as many think, the Raiders have a nifty little quarterback from Ohio State who could cause our defense a headache with his running ability ; just ask San Diego and Indy (Indy was lucky to win).
All that said, Chiefs 27 Raiders 17. The Missouri Tigers may make a liar out of me with my prediction of seven wins. I saw them as a low-level bowl team. With MU’s convincing win on the road at Vanderbilt last week, and with a record of 5 and 0 now, Missouri is showing signs of a breakthrough season in the SEC. The Tigers could surprise Georgia this weekend on the road. Of course, Georgia is missing all their first string receivers and running backs, otherwise MU wouldn’t stand much of a chance. Look for a close game, and maybe the Tigers cover the spread. K State gets hammered by Baylor, whom I think will win the Big 12. Kansas football isn’t worth the conversation, are you happy with Charlie Weiss? I didn’t think so.
