CRAIG GLAZER TALKS MIZZOU, TOUTS CHIEFS TO STAY WINNING AND PREVIEWS THE KANSAS CITY COMEDY WEEKEND!!!
TKC NOTE: A fun weekend for Kansas City coming up as our pal Craig Glazer previews his weekend plans while making some rather bold predictions for this town's two favorite football teams. Check it:
‘Seinfeld’ Cast Member at Stanfords: Kenny Bania & College and Pro Football Weekend
They scream his name at airports; ‘Hey, there’s Bania, from Seinfeld!’; he yells back, ‘My name is Steve’, these exchanges usually end with him explaining that Kenny is a fictional character while the person in question has him sign the autograph as Kenny anyway. Steve Hytner played the popular role as Bania on Seinfeld for several years and was even on the legendary final episode. Bania was the other comedian on the TV series that battled Jerry for jobs and positions. In fact, Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld considered doing one more season with the premise that Bania got his own series and hired Jerry to be a writer on his show.
Oh, the pain. In the end, they changed their mind and decided to end the show but did put Steve on ‘Curb your Enthusiasm’. Steve Hytner is one of the most beloved and popular character actors in television and film over the last two decades. He was the wacky neighbor on ‘The Jeff Foxworthy Show’ and then was also the best friend/crazy neighbor on ‘The Bill Engvall Show’ on TBS. He played the guy who wasn’t hung on the HBO series ‘Hung’.
Steve is currently a reoccurring character on both ‘Mike and Molly’ and ‘Two and a Half Men’. Hytner has the celebrity stories non-stop. ‘I worked with Charlie Sheen several times on Two and a Half Men, during the so-called ‘crazy period’, all I can tell you is that he was a consummate pro, always knew his lines and treated the staff and his fellow cast members, including myself, like gold,’ Hytner said. He went on to say the strangest star he worked with was Chris Walken, from all three Prophecy films. ‘During the first movie, Christopher barely spoke to me,’ Hytner says, ‘but by the third film, he got right up in my face and said ‘Man, you’re really funny’, I asked him to back up a little and told him he was scaring me.’ One of Steve’s greatest pleasures was to work with Clint Eastwood playing a secret service agent in the film ‘In The Line of Fire’. You can see Steve this weekend at Stanfords at the Legends. Call (913)400-7500 for your tickets or get them online at stanfordscomedyclub.com.
Exciting holiday season coming up, includes big stars such as Tom Arnold, Josh Wolf, Carlos Alazraqui, and the return of Louis Anderson to name a few. And ladies, for you, on Thursday November 7th for one night only we have the Chippendales doing their show ‘Fifty Shades of Men’ from Vegas.

Chiefs will Keep on Rollin’
Someone’s going to have to wake us up. Both the Chiefs and MU are undefeated at 7 and 0. We’ve all heard the same conversations about our Chiefs over and over. Great defense, weak offense. Keep this in mind, with about half the quarterbacks in the league either injured or not even playing due to injury, we are the lucky ones. In fact our Kansas City Chiefs may be the healthiest team out there as of right now. With the season nearly to the halfway point, it has become abundantly clear that our offense will continue to struggle scoring points. All we seem to have is one or two scoring drives per game to go along with whatever our special teams or our defense creates for us.
There are just a few days left for our Chiefs to find a helpful trade or pick up outside help. It doesn’t feel like anything major will happen in that regard. Hey, how bad is it out there when the Saint Louis Rams call Brett Favre who is now a couple years retired and now a high school football coach, to come back and quarterback for a helpless football squad. As you may have heard, his answer was a resounding 'no’. Maybe it’s ‘Tebow time’ for the Rams. Another country heard from, the Cleveland Browns have added Jason Campbell as their starting quarterback. The breaks just keep coming our way. Unless the Cleveland Defense can shut down our offense and score, look for our Kansas City Chiefs to wake up Monday Morning 8 and 0. I see the score as KC 24, Cleveland 9.
The Missouri Tigers, ranked 5th in the nation and also undefeated will face a very good South Carolina squad in Columbia. The Tigers are a two and a half point favorite. Missouri will have a much tougher task than the Chiefs but with a balanced offense and defense they should win and go to 8 and 0. Yes, the Tigers are now in the National Championship picture, the only team that will likely to be favored to beat them on the road is Texas A&M. If that is their only loss they will face Alabama for the SEC title. Should the Tigers do the unthinkable and beat Alabama they would head to the National Championship to face either Florida State or Oregon. We can dream.
There’s also a lot of noise coming out of Denver that Peyton Manning has more damage to his body than we’ve been told. Clearly, the Chiefs will need to win their division, to play all their post season games at home to have a shot at the Super Bowl. Hey, dammit, maybe we get lucky this year. It’s about time. Why not us?
MU (-2 ½ ) over South Carolina
Alabama (-21) over Tennessee teased with Florida State (-25) over North Carolina
KC (-1) over Cleveland teased with New Orleans Saints (-4) over Buffalo
Seattle (-4.5) over the Rams teased with the Packers (-2) over Minnesota
San Francisco (-8) over the Jaguars teased with Seattle (- 4 ½ ) over the Rams.
We are having a down year so far at 24 and 19, let’s get back on top this week. Have a great weekend. Follow me on Twitter @KCKingofSting.
