CELEBRATE THE GREAT KANSAS CITY BOULEVARD BREWERY SELLOUT!!!
Kansas City booze just became a bit less authentic this afternoon.
Biz Journal broke the news . . .
The KC Biz Journal: "The new majority owner of the Kansas City-based craft brewer is Duvel Moortgat, a 142-year-old family-owned brewery based in Belgium. The brewery is most widely known in the United States for its namesake Duvel brand beer, which is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale."
New York Times: Belgian Brewery Buys Boulevard, a U.S. Craft Beer Maker
For quite some time Kansas City beer snobs had celebrated this town hosting the largest AMERICAN-OWNED Brewery in Missouri and one of the biggest in the nation . . . Now that's no longer a bragging point as even less about this town is authentic. Also, I'm pretty sure there was an episode of the Simpsons very similar to this situation.
