Now . . .
There are more than a few ways to handle these but here are the trends I've noticed . . .
Option #1 - Nothing. Like it or not, there are a great many people who don't think Prof. Guth should be held accountable for what he tweeted and advocate his right to free speech. While mostly Conservative reactionaries rage . . . It's interesting to note that there are people on BOTH sides of the aisle who defend the prof and his freedom of expression . . . EVEN when public tax dollars are in questions.
Option #2 - Attack KU funding . . . The most intriguing, if somewhat caustic, idea out there is to go ofter Jayhawk funding to the tune of EXACTLY the amount budgeted to the J-School. That kind of discounts all of the other profs, administrative staff, students, janitors and other workers dependent on that cash . . . But we live in a drone war society and collateral damage is never really a concern in the mainstream media.

Option #3. Let the controversy run it's natural lifespan . . . For a controversial tweet . . . That's about three days. On the other hand, some might find this TOTALLY NSFW fight betwixt a porn star tweeter vs. Justin Bieber fans even more captivating: Kelly Divine Vs. The Beliebers
So . . .
WHAT'S THE SOLUTION TO THE ROCK CHALK NRA DEATH WISH HOT MESS?!?!
Either free speech for academics or the hurt feelings of gun advocates will take a hit . . . You decide.
