THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KANSAS CITY @ THE CENTER OF REPUBLICAN PARTY IDENTITY CRISIS!!!
There's a widespread urban legend being touted by political consultant Cathy Nugent claiming that GOP 2016 convention will save Kansas City.
The newspaper is "reporting" the same promotional copy today . . .
RNC head says Kansas City in the running for the 2016 GOP convention
Thankfully, AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS myth-busted this nonsense about Kansas City GOP Salvation almost a month ago . . . And then other VERY BRIGHT TKC TIPSTERS even brought data showing the overwrought claims of GOP convention revenues to municipalities that never seem to materialize.
Our bloggy community insight was no nice . . . The Pitch followed-up on the report with a much more competently written missive this week: Mayor Sly James wants the 2016 Republican National Convention, but is it worth it?
Again, behind the scenes the Kansas City GOP 2016 Convention bid is mostly an effort to gain taxpayer subsidy of a 1,000 room convention hotel. And THAT is really the point . . . In the grand scheme of things the battle betwixt Conservative vs. Liberal is nothing more than a red-herring devised for the wretched middle-class watching too much pay-cable news. This is really about money.
On a grander scale, the same struggle is being played out again and again . . .
IN KANSAS CITY RIGHT NOW REPUBLICANS RALLY DESPITE SOME EPIC SETBACKS THIS WEEK AND DOUBLE VETO OVERRIDE FAIL IN THE MISSOURI GENERAL ASSEMBLY!!!
Hundreds of Republican leaders spent the day Friday and Saturday in Kansas City for the Midwest Republican Leadership Conference.
Kansas GOP chair vows 'knockout punch' to Dems
The Show-Me State response to this embarrassing double defeat is typical . . .
Mo. GOP considers party loyalty statement
Meanwhile the last remnants of the Tea Party continues to chip away at the integrity of Republican ideology:
LA Times: Republican healthcare, purity stances complicate image makeover
WaPo: Tea party activists now criticizing Republican leaders at what seems to be every turn
New York Times: The Annual Republican Crisis
Again, let's bring it back to Kansas City . . .
This Kansas City crisis of Republican conscience is exemplified by the ascendancy of political consultant juggernaut Jeff Roe.
Mr. Roe has struck fear in the hearts of the Kansas City Democratic Party elite for years but now he is described as "mainstream" and that kinda fits with his work to pass a "Forever Tax" supporting the Kansas City Zoo . . . And there are a couple of other City Hall gigs Mr. Roe's Axiom strategies has taken on that have raised eyebrows among GOP stakeholders as well.
Again . . . Politics is about money and everything else is just talk show chatter . . . Mostly about the return of the Obama-Mask clown!!!
To wit . . .
The question of the Kansas City GOP Convention is really nothing more than political elite asking for taxpayer cash right along with Country Club Plaza Flash Mobbers and Dowtown Condo speculators. The only difference is that Republicans do it in boring suits and nicer shoes. And no, this isn't really a screed against capitalism since we're really talking about the politics of subsidy that don't fall along demographic lines as much as the misinformed middle-class would like to imagine.
So, the real "crisis" is that voters are now beginning to see through empty rhetoric on both sides of the aisle amid the upcoming era of Chinese hegemony.
And all of this has inspired tonight's playlist . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a fun and safe Saturday night.
