PRETEND NOT TO NOTICE KANSAS CITY ROYALS CROSS-DRESSING CELEBRATION!!!
Let's talk about subversion on a massive scale in Kansas City.
By now we've all seen Kansas City Royals rookies play dress-up as part of something we're pretending to call "hazing" according to so much celebratory local reporting.
However . . .
WHAT KANSAS CITY IS REALLY WITNESSING IS MAINSTREAM MEDIA PROUDLY GIVING A CROSS-DRESSING SHOUT-OUT TO THE PUBLIC WITH A PLAYFUL NOD!!!
A run down of Kansas City Royals cross-dressing goodness . . .
Johnny Giavotella as Catwoman
Irving Falu as Hello Kitty
Will Smith as a French Maid
Chris Dwyer as Snow White
Donnie Joseph as a princess
Danny Duffy as Supergirl
Yordano Ventura in an Asian themed costume
David Lough as Wonder Woman
And so . . .
What's your argument that this display is the "right" kind of cross-dressing and doesn't really represent the American public's curiosity with alternative lifestyles?!?!
And don't get it twisted . . . This isn't moral outrage but simply AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE CROSS-DRESSING REALITY that has been put on blast and right out there in the open with everyone too afraid to put a name on it.
It's not my bag but I'm sure cross-dressing is really fun and that's why many members of the LGBTQi do it.
Really, what makes Kansas City Royals experimentation with wearing women's costumes so much different than the men and transgender participants in the classic award winning documentary Paris is Burning???
The wink, nod and mainstream media subterfuge that Kansas City Royals cross-dressing was somehow coerced and therefore okay might actually be tragic reference to Western rape culture that conspires to make victims out of a vast cross-section of the population - But mostly women, minorities and the poor of every demographic group.
Anyhoo . . . The joke here is that cross-dressing is quite acceptable in mainstream American culture if the correct pretenses are applied in order to tease the curiosity of the viewing public without sending them into shock by revealing what the audience really desires.
So, we'll pretend the Kansas City Royals are being "hazed" as they frolic around the locker room in women's clothes and most won't dare call it cross-dressing in much the same way we're all pretending the team is still in a playoff race. Natch.
