TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION AGAINST THE MED TAX!!!
More opposition to a controversial Jackson County Tax other than bloggers and some guy from Springfield . . .
CHECK THIS LATEST DECLARATION FROM THE JACKSON COUNTY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION AGAINST THE UPCOMING MEDICAL RESEARCH TAX!!!
We like easy to understand wording in this statement and it's important to know this is a local group with longstanding ties in throughout local neighborhoods.
The ½ cent medical research tax
The ½ cent medical research tax on the November ballot will cost Jackson County taxpayers over $800 million over the 20-year life of the tax. This tax will “create” 500 jobs at a cost of $1.6 million per job. These will be highly trained medical employees. (That's after the politically connected Jackson County bureaucrats and friends of Sly James and Mike Saunders pocket their "share".
Where will the researchers want to live? Not in the part of Kansas City contained in Jackson County. They will want to live where their families are safe and where the schools are excellent. Most of them will want to live in Kansas. Where will they want to work? Not in a city with an earnings tax. They will want to work at the St. Luke's campus in Kansas. Not in Jackson County.
What will the taxpayers of Jackson County get for their $800 Million? That's $800 per person or $2,400 per family of three. They will get very little. Vote NO on the medical research tax on November 5.
