THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR 'MEAN JEAN' PETERS BAKER TAKES HEAT FOR HANDLING OF $15K/SEXTING HOT MESS!!!
It seems that Jackson County Prosecutor "Mean Jean" Peters Baker faces more criticism of her office following a de facto exoneration of parties implicated in the case of the missing $15k.
Earlier this year Mean Jean made a dramatic public statement and declined to press charges in an ongoing controversy involving the missing $15K from City Hall that was well-known among Kansas City Insiders to have far-reaching implications. Put simply, just about EVERYBODY around 12th and Oak knew there was more to this story. Still, "Mean Jean" backed down in a really shocking public fashion.
And now . . .
RECENT SEXTING REVELATIONS AND A REPORTED CONNECTION TO THE $15K CONTROVERSY MADE BY RYAN KATH AND NBC ACTION NEWS CALL INTO QUESTION MEAN JEAN'S JUDGEMENT IN MAKING AN EXONERATION OF THE POLITICOS INVOLVED IN THIS CONTROVERSY!!!
Real talk . . .
This case is politically damaging and criticism of "Mean Jean" and her office often focus on the highly political way she runs it.
A few examples:
- On both sides of the issue, critics of her prosecution of Bishop Finn raised concerns over political maneuvering and motivations.
- Hardcore politicos don't understand why the prosecutor's office won't work for charter change and bring Jackson County up to date with the rest of Missouri when it comes to felons like Bishop Tindall still in office.
- Even the few Will Royster acolytes want an investigation of their pet cause.
- And now the early dismissal of the $15k hot mess looks like an exceptionally premature decision in light of recent news reports making a shocking connection.
Mean Jean is an elected official but it seems the Democratic Party control of Jackson County has made the office a non-competitive position, and that has led to criticism from quite a few local power brokers who note the danger of politics ruling over the prosecutor's office.
To be fair, Insiders give Mean Jean credit for attempts to clean up her the office upon her arrival amid recent controversy and accusations of prosecutorial misconduct from judges that further tarnished the rep of JaxCo . . . By and large Mean Jean has attempted to be a reformer but questions linger about her decisions in these high profile cases.
Now . . .
Mean Jean has an opportunity to redeem herself and restore confidence in her office . . . Insiders hope that she'll show the same kind of zeal for REOPENING THE $15K INVESTIGATION that she did for shutting down the case.
