This nation's financial paper of record reviews the ongoing disaster that is Citadel Plaza.
Wall Street Journal: Kansas City Retail Project Remains Stuck
Sadly, the story was mostly focused on meaningless and empty replies from Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Circo.
No mention of what disgraced Councilman and Pastor Brooks will contribute to the problem in his district.
This passage provides background . . .
"Located on Kansas City's troubled East Side, Blue Hills was once a working-class white neighborhood, servicing the city's cattle and rail industries. But white flight in the 1960s and '70s stripped the neighborhood of much of its infrastructure and began a trend of population decline.
"Today, the median income hovers near $26,000, well below the city's average, with home values that are less than half of those in Kansas City as a whole."
Like it or not the site will remain a toxic waste dump as Council representation for the district is more concerned with building a soccer training camp OR dealing with their own sexting scandal worried.
Developing . . . Not really.
