  6. The point is to remember Trayvon Martin.

The President is right, as usual. Trayvon died because a vigilente profiled him as a criminal, because he was young & black & wearing a hoodie.

Many feel that justice was not served. Its that simple. Hate all you want, but many remain unconvinced.

This is not much different from a lynching.

  7. Obama surely understands this phenomenon. He has made a career out of speaking to white people while pretending to speak to black people.

Dear Mr. Byron: Yes, the point is to remember Trayvon Martin and to, hopefully, learn from his tragic death. In this connection I am pleased that there is a serious national debate about these "stand your ground laws"--this is not the "Wild West"--such laws seem to assume that it is. As for the President's remarks, I would have put a few things differently than he did, but there is one good thing that came out of these remarks: I gather that Trayvon Martin's parents were very touched by the President's sincere concern and that hopefully his remarks can be a healing experience for them. Take care and God bless. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

  9. Trayvon is dead because he profiled the white guy to be a person that he could violently attack without repercussion.

If Zimmerman was black, Trayvon would have profiled HIM as a thug about to make mischief on Trayvon's face and, once Martin had run out of sight, Martin would have kept going.

  10. Byron-

Check out the crimes reported in the KC Star the last few days.

    1) An altercation in the parking lot of a restaurant where the black man was the aggressor.
    2) Armed robbery of a restaurant, suspect I black male.
    3) Robbery of a thrift store in a good neighborhood thst is run by a charity that helps the poor and the homeless. The perp's? 2 black males.
    4) A black bus driver is beaten and stabbed by........2 black males.

It's the stupid, senseless violence perpetrated by and accepted in the African American community that should be receiving the President's attention- not the color of some kids' skin.

  11. The president, much like Byron doesnt know when to shut up.

The prosecution was never within a light year of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a SELF DEFENCE case.

The race hustlers and lemmings like Byron think this issue has wheels.

This issue and this cause has jumped the shark.

    Go chuck

  12. 5:54 has a good point, Byron. Why all this outrage over one crime when there are so many others? It just proves how easily media can manipulate our nation of sheep.

  13. Obama has gone off the deep end.

He's supposed to be above all this. He's supposed to lead by example. He's a constitutional law professor with a slew of Ivy League degrees ... and yet he's thinking with his heart instead of his mind.

If he can't get past race -- or if he's unwilling to get past race -- this country is in dire straits indeed.

  15. Mr. Evans, Trayvons death may be tragic for Byron. But it is business as usual in the AA community.

He was a thug, who slugged a bus driver, just like the thugs here in town who did the same thing.

We are all better off with him dead.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 6:10, Obama can't get past race because everything he has has been handed to him based on his race. Obama hasn't achieved things based on skills, accomplishments, etc. Remember this is the idiot that went on the Apology Tour and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for accomplishing absolutely nothing.
It behooves Obama to keep the racial fires burning, and his speech today was highly inappropriate and very much out of line, but so is everything else he does.

  17. @Mr. Byron

You don't know who threw the first punch. That is all there is to this case. If we knew that simple fact, Zimmerman would have been guilty or not even brought up on charges.

Trayvon had options. He could have just went to his dad's house and nothing would have happened.

To equate this to lynching is simply dishonest and you are losing support from those who might be leaning in your direction. Lynching implies group behavior. Zimmerman acted alone; most fear his actions will inspire other would be vigilantes not lynch mobs.

As far as profiling is concerned, it can't be legislated or cured in the courts. It is about image. It is easy to blame everybody else, but the only way any real change is going to occur is when the kids stop embracing the fashions and mannerisms of negative stereotypes.

  21. 5:19 you show your ignorance and just as the prez did today you ignore facts. Find and listen to the 9-1-1 call, listen carefully!! Zimmerman is asked what race Trayvon is and his response is?????? Listen dumb ass!

And let's remember who had marijuana in their system????

People are going to continue to fan the flames until the riots break out and then the race issue becomes even wider. I'm not so sure the prez didn't cause the division to widen today with his comments.

  22. Let's see, the first rally garnered less than 200 people, and it was publicized everywhere and at 6:00 PM, so all the working people could attend.
Face it folks, KC just does not care. We do, however, want to know about the latest east side murders, even though no one will tell the police what happened.
Does anybody see a problem here except me?

  26. Obama is the black Lex Luther7/19/13, 7:43 PM

100 demonstrations planned for Saturday, and increasing Payback beatings taking place. With a growing "anger" by many Blacks. In the middle of a heatwave. The president fanned the flames. He placated, pandered, and aligned himself with one side over another. He passed on the opportunity to school people about the rule of law. His entire speech was nothing more than validation for their misdirected anger. He basically said "Dont go fuckin up a bunch of people and property." Then out of the side of his neck he added " But I understand if you do."
Say what you will about Obama, but he is a genius when it comes to manipulation as a means to an end. No matter what he says or does, the media and the left never attach any of the bad shit to him.

  30. What I find interesting is that the mainstream media is ignoring one simple fact about the Travon Martin case.

    Travon was homophobic.

At least that's according to that beast drag queen Rachel Jeantel.

Blacks are normally the most intolerant people in the planet and people are starting to catch on. By large, their the most racist, homophobic, women hating people in the country.

If Travon was more tolerant he would still be alive right now.

    Aint that right Bryon?

  31. Here's whet Obama said about blacks:

    - "African-American young men are disproportionately involved in the criminal justice system, that they are disproportionately both victims and perpetrators of violence."
    - "African-American boys are more violent"
    - "Trayvon Martin was probably statistically more likely to be shot by a peer than he was by somebody else."

  32. Where was the justice for Nicole Simpson when OJ murdered her? The same black folks who want "justice for Treyvon" where cheering in the streets when OJ was found not guilty. Can you say hypocrite?

    ReplyDelete
  33. All Obama was doing was playing to his afrimerican base to keep democrat control in the Senate and add democrats to the house in 2014...pure politics.....not Trayvon or Black perspective. He was addressing his base that I might add have fared far worse under him than past presidents.

    It's not race folks,its politics.

Blacks will not accept that neighborhood watchman Zimmerman had a right to keep and eye on Trayvon who I might add did not go straight home. But rather waited to confront the "creepy assed cracker". And then his choice to not go home but confront the CAC ended in his needless death.

  38. Obama's speech was political pandering designed to solidify his base so he can push for more racially-based government programs to send to his supporters. Nothing more, nothing less.

This in spite of the fact that 50 years of affirmative action have resulted in exactly what you see now- a violent entitlement culture in the African American community and whites who are dissatisfied in a government and media that affords them NO protections and resent it.
