Just a quick note for the evening . . .
Today Kansas City's fishwrap newspaper quickly shot down the very popular notion among locals that this town is headed in the same direction as bankrupt and dying Detroit.
KC another Detroit? Facts show otherwise
The "facts" the newspaper uses to support their argument are paltry and misleading at best . . .
Here are just a few things to consider:
- Year after year Kansas City Proper continues to lose population.
- Kansas City continues to lose jobs in a border war that has decimated this town's corporate economy.
- Our murder rate is disproportionate to our population numbers and remains the single, biggest unmentioned factor that stifles civic and business growth within city limits.
- Kansas City's rate of taxation has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade and Mayor Sly James has helped to increase taxes nearly half a dozen times in his short tenure.
- Kansas City's bond rating is unstable and was downgraded until political pressure corrected the accounting. Meanwhile, the KCMO Political leaders keep borrowing hands over fist for pet projects like the Downtown Toy Train and an ill-advised soccer stadium at a cost of HUNDRED OF MILLIONS.
And just a reminder about promises and assurances from politicos . . .

Detroit is just the most obvious problem.

This is what you get when you have black "leadership." A bunch of people who have no business holding the positions they have whether it's in the school district or city hall. The grifters of the past like Pendergast stole but also did things for the better of the city. Blacks steal AND make everything worse.

ReplyDeleteI expect everyone would leave KCMO proper if they could afford to, or had enough years left to make changes worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteRural white America does have it's worthless drug addicted, baby-making, welfare recipients. What is different between there and black areas is the amount of violence and it's not even close. To deny this is to deny fact.

ReplyDeleteKANSAS CITY PROPER IS EVERYTHING IN THE CITY LIMITS and the Northland is mostly in the city limits. Kansas City is different because it is also its own suburb. Most of the city's area and the majority of its people don't live in the KCMO school district. The Shoal Creek Valley is growing faster than anything in Johnson County. There is no comparison with other city's that have not been able to annex.
