July 4th in Kansas City is one of the best traditions in this town - It's a glorious time when most of this Kansas City openly admits that some laws are just stupid and unenforceable.
ILLEGAL FIREWORKS RULE THE 4TH OF JULY IN KANSAS CITY AND NOBODY RESPECTS EFFORTS TO CURB LOCAL EXPLOSIONS!!!
As usual, the weather has more influence over the use of fireworks than the willingness of locals to abide by city rules and regs. And for the most part cracking down on local parties will do nothing but generate bad feelings.
But mainstream media offers a friendly and mostly empty warning:

Fair warning . . . Every year, KCPD offers more and more citations for fireworks use but that still hasn't stopped locals from spending HUNDREDS of bucks to celebrate freedom by way of firecrackers.
Build a big tent city and use it as a jail -- no air conditioning, and no mosquito netting. Arrest and incarcerate for thirty days any asshole that sets off a firework. No I am not joking. I am fed up with the assholes. The noise is bad enough, but the fire risk is insane. Let the bugs and the heat get to them as the worry about losing their jobs, and maybe then fireworks will lose their attraction.
ReplyDeleteCreate a Police State. Fly drones over the city. Set up check points and search every car. Arrest anyone with Fireworks. Then wish them a Happy 4th "Independence Day".

ReplyDeleteAll you need to do is go to Northeast KC where all the Mexican illegals live (because Tony's neighborhood won't let them in).
