Kansas City has always supported an inordinate number of street performers and all manner of hobos engaged in creative panhandling.

Now it's official . . .

KANSAS CITY HAS SO MANY TALENTED HOBOS ASKING FOR MONEY ON LOCAL STREETS THAT WE'VE COMBINED THEM IN ONE CONVENIENT LOCATION!!!

Here's a look . . .

I'm actually pretty interested to see how this one is going to turn out . . . Wondering if it's possible to run a City Market fest where all of the patron are afraid to make eye contact with the performers.

We'll see . . .

Hopefully, more local content, BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE NEWS AWESOME, debate, discourse, hateration and all kinds of good stuff coming up in a few . . . STAY TUNED!!!

That's actually some pretty good busking. Not Portland Oregon caliber, mind you, but pretty good.

  2. Buskers who usually don't perform at the Market are going to be there to show KC the real deal.

  3. I heard they are going to bring in acts that are a better than "hobos engaging in creative panhandling" ... I mean, The Lawrence Busker Festival is a huge success. I went there last year and they brought in a bunch of great acts and also let the local performers do their thing. It was pretty action packed. Hopefully Kansas City can bring the same enthusiasm.

  4. My comment will try to be very precise, and straight to the point. I find it extremely obnoxious, as well as super arrogant. Many of the buskers, who perform at the farmers market in Kansas City, are not panhandlers, who are doing it for a few box, or Hobos at all. Some of us, like me for instance, was at the conservatory in France, and were at opera levels, practiced ballet, tapped dancing, were proficient in poetry, and theater, sing in multiple languages, such as french, creole, sanskrit, spanish, italian, and of course, in English to keep it International. Some like Roy White the one man Band who made his own, with 17 different instruments, performed everywhere in Europe, in France Portugal, Germany, Rotterdam, and have been doing it, for 30 years. The Busker from Saint Louis, is an Excellent drummer, The lady from Guyana is a very good violonist, who plays the four seasons of Vivaldi. So please, measure your words, when you speak of the buskers, of the City Market of Kansas City Missouri, and do not let Ego inflate your heads too much. For that, in France they will tell you, to wear a small hat.

  5. I went to Lawrence Kansas, and actually, it was a pretty boring place, contrarily to what is being said. Now if you want to talk to me about Boulder Colorado, on Pearl Street, that's a place where people know how to appreciate street performers, with Intelligence, no pretension, and a heart to heart connection. Their level of consciousness is very different, even though i thought they were a bunch of new "agies", in the beginning. They are actually great, welcoming, and super kind, and I really loved them.A total hand to the "Boulderados", and the people of Netherland in Colorado, who could appreciate Medieval French Singing.Americans when it comes to Street performing, should open their horizons, to the Whole world instead of sticking to Elvis only, or just what they are used to. We are living in a vast world, and the rest of it exist too, and should be valued as much.
