Method Press Release

Method KC Haberdashery will be closing their doors on June 15, 2013. Owners Shomari Benton and David Lloyd plan to focus on their law firm, Benton & Lloyd LLP (www.bentonlloyd.com). In the future, Method may make their Negro Leagues Collection bow ties available online.

“We had a great run and are obviously sad to see it go, but we are extremely excited about the future of Benton & Lloyd.”

“It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of the Kansas City business community. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and all of the great people we have had the chance to work with. We look forward to making a positive impact on this great city as one of Kansas City’s few minority-owned law firms.”

Benton & Lloyd LLP will focus on business law, real estate law, and development. Prior to Method, Mr. Benton and Mr. Lloyd practiced law at one of the nation’s largest law firms.

Mr. Benton is a Board Member of the Kansas City Port Authority and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Vine Street District Council.

Mr. Lloyd teaches Business Law at the UMKC Bloch School of Business. He also serves on the Kansas City Liquor Board and Mayor Sly James Challenge Cabinet.

But more importantly, Method was the bomb on first fridays. It will be sad to see them go.
