TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS BEHIND THE SCENES: HALLMARK TRANSITIONS CROWN CENTER AS SALE RUMORS ABOUND!!!
Crown Center is one of Kansas City's most interesting destinations and right now KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS inform us that the shopping and dining district is in a state of flux.
To wit . . .
EVEN MORE KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS OFFER BEHIND THE SCENES DETAILS ON CROWN CENTER TRANSITIONS AND SALE TALK!!!
People who close their eyes to these developments are living in the past . . . Hallmark is no longer a juggernaut company - It's just another dead tree media organization struggling to find a path to the future. Firming up Crown Center is a good idea overall but sale talk comes from MULTIPLE KICK-ASS TIPSTERS and the whispers are reaching nearly deafening crescendo.
And so . . . Read the KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER insight supported by facts and speaking to the evolving nature of Kansas City biz that's moving too fast for the slow streetcar toy train that isn't really going to improve the local economy significantly . . .
CROWN CENTER BEHIND THE SCENES AND ON DEEP BACKGROUND
"Here are a few more pieces to the puzzle. The American Heartland Theater had just returned to profitability after years of being personally subsidized by the late Adele Hall. Within days of this announcement Chef Debbie Gold leaves The American Restaurant. She has since announced that she is joining a new local restaurant company who is using a converted Paddy O'Quigley's as their first location. Why does a chef leave the top restaurant in KC to be a partner in a restaurant in a suburban strip mall? Because the writing was on the wall.
"Here is my prediction from what I am hearing. The American is going to become a more casual restaurant than it currently is. Crown Center is going to convert the failing Milano's restaurant into at least one more family oriented restaurant. The recently closed theater will become more of a kid's attraction to capitalize on the families coming down for the aquarium and Lego Land. Hallmark is trimming less profitable, non-core, ventures that they have a stake in to be more in line with the current mission of becoming a family destination.
"The real question is if this is preparing for the sale of the real estate or the sale of the company as a whole. Perhaps to a company named after one of Hallmark's most famous former employees?"

We like that last hint . . . Please help us figure it out!!!
DEVELOPING . . .
Whoever buys it better have deep pockets and a lot of security guards. The place ain't what it used to be.
ReplyDeleteWell, pull back the snorskin and wipe off the sleepma.
ReplyDeleteGive it ten years and it will become another ruin in the blighted, broke, crime-ridden and pilfered Kansas City - left behind by the likes of Sly, Cleaver, etc.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Detroit
KC is being destroyed from the inside out by it's "leaders".
ReplyDeleteBankruptcy will come all too soon.
The future of KC is bleak.
ReplyDeleteTake a look into the future of KC after it is robbed blind by crooked politicians.
Hallmark should sell. They'll deny it but the company is hurting and they aren't prepared for the future. Crown Center is the old way of doing business for this glorified nicknack company.
ReplyDeleteHaven't gone there in 18 years. And I live less then two miles from it. LOL
ReplyDeleteSome Chinese Corporation will buy it don't worry. Ching Chow Center.
ReplyDeleteCrown Media still owns Jim Henson Television. They aren't hurtin', just leaving KC probably.
ReplyDeleteThe Toy Train will save it with all the skinny hipsters riding it back and forth all day long.
ReplyDeleteComing to KC in the next decade or so.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry new technologies are coming along that can empower the individual like never before.
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO
You mean the aquarium isn't drawing by the thousands?
ReplyDeleteKC managed to fuck up an AQUARIUM.
Think about that for a moment. That's seriously difficult to do.
All I can say to the employees or future ex employees there, is you won't see the long unemployment and soup kitchen lines like in the Great Depression, but that’s just because the lines are electronic now.
ReplyDeleteHallmark is Packard
ReplyDeleteKansas City is Detroit
There will be a lot of former Crown Center workers entering the overcrowded and over congested field of blogging no doubt.
ReplyDeleteSouth Carolina House passes bill making ‘Obamacare’ implementation a crime.
ReplyDeleteShit maybe they won't have to sell after all if this catches on. People might actually have some extra money to spend on something other then health insurance.
Hallmark does about $4 billion a year in revenue they certainly can't be hurting to bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a load of BS. Tenants come and go. TKC BS is forever.
ReplyDeleteMissouri, Kansas rate well on 'best places to retire' list
ReplyDeleteGo Condos!!!! Crown Center National Retirement Community
Right I'm sure all the skinny hipsters wanting to turn that area into kiddie playground at taxpayers expense are going to love retired people coming in and taking over and calling the shots.
ReplyDeleteIf by "one of Hallmark's most famous former employees" you mean Walt Disney, I wouldn't hold my breath. There is zero synergy there.I guess Disney may take a shot at buying Crown Media but given its growth spurt, it's probably too expensive. Hallmark is rock solid, they are making oodles of money, and they have adjusted. "Dead tree" card sales are still up there, something like 2/3rd of their business. It also privately held, so the chance the Hall Brothers will sell out seems slim to none.
ReplyDelete"Whoever buys it better have deep pockets and a lot of security guards. The place ain't what it used to be."
ReplyDeleteYea, it used to be a place where no one wanted to go, now its pretty popular on the weekends.
Hate to be so forthright kids but dead tree loving media and stuff you can touch and feel people still far out the number the pixel population by a long shot. Besides what are you going to do live in the Internet? Can you shrink yourself down to miniature size and pretend your computer case is a big house? Or an iPhone? Relax it's going to be a while. A long while.
ReplyDeleteLots of out of work real estate investors without nothing to do day......
ReplyDeleteAnd you posted this why Tony?
So even if everything Tony wrote is true how is this a bad thing? They are just revampig.
ReplyDeleteRetail sales is dead.
If his tips pan out they will put in more family dining (how is that a negagive?) to compliment the crowds drawn to Lego Land and the Aquarium. (SO if satalite businesses are coming in they must be working)
Everything is the the burbs and can not be measured by the success or failure of a mall type environment. In fact I think the fewer malls the better.
niggers will soon take over Crown Center and fuck it up just like the Plaza!
ReplyDeleteHalls are smart. They are cashing in on all the appreciation in real estate values that the toy train brought them.
